"Hey....can I talk to you?" Soyeon asked, biting her lower lip as she looked at Chaerin sighing in a tense manner.
"What is it yeon....I really don't have time right now" she said
"You only have biology tomorrow and you're good at it.....do you have other plans?" She asked, eyeing her suspiciously and Chaerin placed a strand of hair behind her ear
"No I just want to take a nap. I'm having a bad day. What did you wanna talk about?" She asked Soyeon with not much interest
"What's....going on with you and Haechan?" She asked making Chaerin roll her eyes
"Nothing" she said, trying to walk past her only to get pulled back again
"Soyeon seriously...I dont have time for this right n-"
"I saw you running out of the classroom a few minutes after I left...just as I was about to run up to see if you were okay" Soyeon said and Chaerin sighed
"So why didn't you?" she asked
".....because haechan of all people did...and you're still going to tell me that nothing is going on between you two?" She asked and Chaerin sighed
"Okay....listen I don't know what's going on" she said making Soyeon raise her eyebrows in surprise
"We have this thi- I'm sorry.....yeon I'll tell you tomorrow I.....kind of planned to talk to him about it tonight so I can't really say anything right now" Chaerin said and Soyeon sighed
"Great." She scoffed and Chaerin looked at her confused
"Yeon....Is there a problem?" She asked and Soyeon looked at her
"I.......I like him Chae"
Soyeon really could not believe the words that had slipped through Soyeon's mouth. It explained everything about the night of the party when Soyeon danced with Haechan. It was just her scheming to get him alone with her.
"Yeon i-"
"I'll see you later. My brother is waiting for me" Soyeon said, cutting her off immediately and walking towards Jeno's car which was waiting for her outside the school doors.
Chaerin sighed and took her belonging before watching to the bus stop. Making her way home as she contemplated whether or not she should go and see haechan.
She eventually decided it was best to go, after all, just because Soyeon has feelings for him doesn't mean she could just throw away her own developing feelings for Haechan. She needed to let him know how she felt, no matter what the competition was.
Choosing on a light blue shaded dress to give the dinner a more formal look, she started to get her things ready.
Walking with white heels clicking onto the concrete, she waited patiently for her cab to come collect her and take her to haechan's address.
Once she was outside his gate, the sound of the front door closing made her look up. It was the first time in a long time that they stood together on his front porch, not giving a mind to whether someone saw them or not. Remaining completely oblivious to the girl that was watching them from afar.
"You're early....I was just about to come collect you" haechan said, jiggling the car keys in his hand while walking up to Chaerin who was taking a moment to process how good looking haechan was in a suit. No eyebrow peircings, no neck tattoos peircing through, no bad boy vibe earrings hanging on his lobes. He was breathtaking, and her failure to breathe at a steady rate confirmed that.
"Wow" she whispered as she looked up at him, now towering over her body.
"You look amazing" he said wrapping his arms around her body making her chuckle but try to wriggle out of his grip
"what if someone sees us?" she asked and he smiled
"yeah i've been meaning to talk to you about that" he said reaching down to pick her up bridal style making her squeal and pull down the dress that had slightly ridden up. with a bright smile on his face, haechan walked to his door and led her into his house which was a lot darker than usual. setting her down he immediately placed his hands over her eyes, getting giddy about showing her his creation that he spent hours working on.
"you ready?" he asked excitedly as he finished leading her to the dining room
"yup" she said, excited. haechan was always full of suprises and he never came short, especially not when it came to Chaerin. removing his hands from her eyes, she slowly opened them, only to gasp as her eyes glanced at the candle lit dinner set up in front of her. it all made sense now, his fancy suit, the dim lighting, the music.
"you....did all this?" she asked in surprise. she was shocked that he was even bothered to do this for her, even her 4 year boyfriend didn't do as much as haechan, not that it was a fair comparison though because mark couldn't cook so he thought dinner reservations were safer for their houses and their stomachs.
"yup, spent the whole afternoon cooking and not studying for biology so you better enjoy it" he said with a playful glare and her heart swelled at the thought of him wanting the night to be perfect just for her.
"haechan i...i don't know what to say" she said, and he was endeared by the fact that he had taken her breath away, one out of many times.
"don't say anything, just sit and let me get you some food" he said pulling out a chair for her and she sat down, still scanning her eyes around the expensive plates and the tall candles burning a sensual flame.
"holy shit!" she exclaimed as she saw him bring out two plates of food like a waiter
"it's just pasta, it's not that big of a deal" he said with a chuckle, setting it down infront of her before he placed it infront of her.
"wait i'm gonna wash my hands" she said, getting up quickly and kissing his cheek before leaving to wash her hands at the sink. when she returned, the sound of her phone's ringtone immediately pierced through her ear as she looked at haechan staring at the caller ID
"who is it?" she asked and he looked up to her with a sad glint in his eyes
"mark" he said. giving the phone to her, expecting her to answer the call. and she did. he sighed as he began to notice how mark would always interrupt them, at their most intense moments. he was always higher on her pedastal. chaerin was always ready to run to mark if he needed her.
