nope, not that kind of bonding you freaky fucks ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"yeah just make sure to cut it small" Chaerin's mom advised as she helped cut the chicken for lunch that they were both preparing. after another good 30 minutes of chilling in the kitchen, listening to music flowing from Chaerin's spotify, a playlist that Mark had created in hopes to lift up her mood a little bit, time was passing quickly.
"I'll set the table, you go and change into some thing nicer" her mom said, ushering her up the stairs
"why? what's wrong with what I'm wearing?" Chaerin asked, looking down at her grey sweats and cropped tank top, with a messy bun as an excuse for a bird's nest.
"trust me, just go change" her mom said with a slight wink and Chaerin furrowed her brows before breaking a small confused smile but going up the stairs to change nonetheless. thinking that her mom had something planned afterwards like the shopping trip they were talking about last night as they sipped glasses of wine with face masks on, she began to change into more presentable clothes
as she approached the stairs, the sound of laughter made her almost stop in her tracks as she heard her mother chuckle while complimenting another woman. while remaining confused at the guest's identity, she walked down the rest of the stairs, her light treading steps only made the other three people around the hall area look up at her.
when her head lifted up slowly she first made eye contact with her mom, soft and radiant eyes before they landed onto the boy's, the ones she loved the most.
"Haechan" she said, breathing out slightly as a smile crept up to her face, not being able to hide her surprise anymore.
the two women, known to be the mothers of the two, simply awwed at the sight, seeing both of their children blush as they approached each other for a hug
"so your mom told me you cooked for the first time in three years" haechan teased making her pinch his arm and he whined playfully. the two adults chuckled at their playful nature, already knowing that the two were simply made for each other without a shadow of a doubt, before they entered into the dining room.
"you didn't tell me you were going to come" she said, wrapping her arms around his neck, loosely hanging them at his shoulder and he placed his hands on her hips, lifting them up slowly so she was standing on her tippy toes before leaning into a kiss.
"hmm surprise?" he chuckled, planting a kiss on her forehead and they remained in each other's hold, completely forgetting that two adults were waiting for them. in fact, they had to be interrupted and reminded that the food was getting cold
the lunch was pure bliss, without counting the fact that haechan took every chance to playfully criticize the steak she had cooked event thought he finished the whole thing, relishing the taste in his mouth, it was simply the best he ever had. maybe it was because it was because she made it or maybe it was because it was genuinely that good, whatever it was, haechan was happier than anyone at this moment.
