Bottoms Up

This week has been kind of busy. I'm pretty glad that it's finally Friday. There was nothing necessarily bad about this week. It was just kind of tiring. I was working a couple days and I had classes. Danika and I were arguing a little but definitely not as much as normal.

As much as I hate to admit it I'm kind of excited for tonight. I don't usually love going to parties. The only people that I really know most of the time are Alex, Cooper and Danika. Maybe Hannah if she ever goes but she usually doesn't.

Although tonight I'm just excited to relax a little and drink to my heart's content.

Alex and Danika have successfully taken over the bathroom counter and mirror to get ready. There's makeup and hair things and whatever completely covering the counter.

They made sure that Cooper and I took our showers and did whatever we needed in the bathroom early in the day so both of them had enough time to get ready.

Seriously what the fuck. The party isn't until 9:00. What the hell takes that long? I don't get it.

I took a shower when I got home from my class at 12:30 and then got dressed. I have been sitting around with Cooper, who is also ready, talking and watching TV for like 4 hours now.

The girls still aren't close to being ready. Like at all. I'm pretty sure that Alex is still actually taking a shower. I think that Danika is doing her hair in the bathroom while Alex is in the shower.

Like I get that they are best friends. So are Cooper and I but I don't think we would stay in there while the other was showering.

I must have zoned out staring at the bathroom door with my internal monologue because Cooper clears his throat and I look over at him. "You alright there?" He smirks. 

"Yeah I'm just thinking how weird girls are. I don't think I will ever find a point in my life where it will take me more than an hour to get ready. Also the fact that Danika is in there while Alex is showering. It just doesn't make sense to me."

"Yeah that's true. But they have much more to do than us. They have to shower, shave, exfoliate, dry and style their hair and then makeup. I'm probably even missing some steps. We literally just take a shower and throw on some random clothes. I can almost guarantee one of the pieces of clothing you're wearing you picked up from the floor."

I look down at my shirt that I actually didn't pick up off the floor. I grabbed it from the pile of clothes on my chair. "Wait, how do you even know this?"

"I have been friends with them." He points to the bathroom. "Long enough that I have been roped into getting ready with them a few times before. They tried to explain everything and show me but I just got lost and confused."

I nod. What he said does make sense though. Guys, in general, don't put much effort into their appearance whereas girls will spend ages to look good. Not that I'm complaining.

Although I almost like the lazy, sweatpants and messy bun look better than the dressed up look. But the way some girls do it with light makeup and the right outfit just does it for me.

Cooper and I go back to a comfortable silence while watching the TV until the door to the bathroom opens. Both of us look over and see Alex and Danika walk from the bathroom into the room Alex is staying in. Alex in a towel with wet hair and Danika with straightened hair and wearing a bathrobe.

They shut the door after them and I turn to Cooper. "So what? About another 2 hour wait?"

"Yeah probably." He smiles and focuses back on the TV.
