I'm pretty tired after this week. I was working like 3 days this week and had more classes than usual for some reason.
Although thankfully Kai and I haven't been arguing nearly as much as normal so that's good. I would be way more exhausted if I had also spent the week arguing with him.
I'm excited for the party tonight. I love having a reason to dress up and plus I get to get drunk. Sounds like a great night if you ask me.
The boys are already ready to go I think. They both already showered and got dressed. I just got out of the shower and now Alex is going in while I do my hair.
We usually wouldn't do this. Although it isn't weird, it's just that instead of just Alex and I sharing a bathroom to get ready there are four of us. Granted the boys got ready fairly fast but it's just better for the time if I do my hair while she showers.
I just finished blow drying my hair and now I'm waiting for the hair straightener to heat up.
Alex speaks up from the shower. "Have you decided what you're going to wear tonight? I think I'm going to wear a silver dress."
"Oh yes that'll look so good on you. I'm going to wear my short black dress with the slit that goes up to my hip."
"Yes I love that dress." I can hear the smile in her voice.
We go back to just listening to the music that my phone is playing. By the time Alex finishes her shower I have around half of my hair straightened. She steps out of the shower and wraps a towel around herself.
She stands next to me in the mirror looking like she's contemplating something. "You alright?" I ask.
"Yeah I just gotta tell you something."
This peaks my attention and I set down the straightener. "Okay. What's up?"
Alex notices the look on my face and smiles. "Oh it's nothing bad. It's good actually. I met someone."
I spin to look at her directly instead of through the mirror. "Seriously?" I can't help the huge smile spreading on my face.
Alex blushes and looks away from my face for a second. "Yeah, her name is Hannah and she works at a bookshop that I went into last week. She recommended Murder on the Orient Express and we started talking and I asked her for her number."
"So how is it going?" I cross my arms and lean my hip against the counter.
"Well she was sick over the weekend and spent the whole time in bed so we texted for most of the weekend. Then we met for lunch the other day and I actually had a really great time. She's amazing, you'll love her."
You can just tell how much Alex likes her by the way her eyes brighten up just talking about her. I can't explain how happy it makes me to see her like this. She really deserves someone good.
"I bet I would, she sounds great. I mean you must be perfect. Does she know about your unnatural obsession with romance books or even books in general?"
"Yes she knows. But I wouldn't call it an unnatural obsession. It is perfectly normal."
"Yeah sure. So when do I get to meet her?"
