Field Trip (Part 3)

Steve's POV
I stood there staring at the building that our daughter was in. I turned around and faced everyone
"Alright listen up. There are five guys the first one the one we believe is the leader is named Isaac Daniels. We believe that he targeted this place because his girlfriend worked here and she has disappeared with $67 Million dollars from their last heist. His two accomplices are Bernard Jackson a local and Timothy Grant from Ohio. Keep in mind there are children and other civilians in there. Make sure everyone is safe." I turned to walk away when Danny added
"There is a girl named Alex in the USS ARIZONA. She is a diabetic. She hid after the first gunshots rang out. Make sure she is found and brought to safety." I walked over to Danny and hugged him. When it came to one of our kids being hurt it hurt us both and so I knew this was hard. We walked over to the door and I said
"I'm going to find Alex, you handle the bad guys."
"Here, take this with you." He handed me her glucose meter so I could test her sugar. We both knew it had to be either high or low by the sound of her on the phone. I saw Danny breech with SWAT and I went with Chin and a couple of officers on the side of the building. We breached and went into the building and I heard shots fired and then we made our way through the building to see Danny sitting on a suspect that was handcuffed and the suspect was still struggling
"Where do you think your going? Why are you even trying?" I laughed. That was the first line he said when we caught one of Victor Hesses goons. I saw the USS ARIZONA and I made my way over to the ship and walked inside Alex was sitting against the wall not looking so good. I walked over to her and said
"Hi Baby Girl." She looked at me
"Daddy?"
"Yes, its daddy." I pulled out the meter and took her finger and she started to struggle with me
"Your an asshole."  I chuckled
"I will give you that one kiddo, but I need to check your sugar." I finally pricked her finger and it flashed across the screen 465 shit that wasn't good. I picked her up and carried her out of the ship and took her to a waiting ambulance and Danny.
"Hey baby girl." Danny said when he saw her and I laid her on the gurney
"Hey Danno?" She was still confused. I looked at Danny
"Her Sugar is 465 and she didn't know who I was at first." They put her in the back of the ambulance and then one of them told us they were taking her to Tripler which is a great hospital. Chin walked over and said
"Go we can handle this here boss. You and Danny go be with your daughter." I took Danny's hand and led him to the car and then got in and we drove to the hospital. On the way I could see Danny was quiet and that was unusual.
"Hey she's your daughter you know that right?"
"I know. I'm just worried."
"You wouldn't be Danno otherwise, but she called me an asshole when I was trying to take her sugar." Danno chuckled
"That's my girl." Danno said. We arrived at the hospital and we were sitting in the hall when Chin and Kono arrived.
"I brought coffee." Kono said and handed Danny and I both a cup. The doctor walked up to us
"Family of Alexandra Williams-McGarrett?"
"I'm Danny and this Steve we are her Dads. How is she?"
"Her sugar is down. She is drinking and eating. She can go home anytime." We took her home that night and we fell asleep with her in our bed that night. Just glad she was safe even if she was grounded.
