Samantha's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I looked at the time and saw that it is just quarter to six in the morning. Still too early compared to my daily routine of waking up but I need to since it's the required time for the participants who will join the team.
I went downstairs and saw Sofia eating her breakfast.
"Morning" I greeted her and sat next to her.
I saw how her eyes widen and she was stopped from eating.
"What does you waking up at this early hour means?" She asked while still looked shocked seeing me.
I decided that I don't have the time to eat anymore so I stand up and was about head back to my room and take a bath when she spoke.
"I am asking you!" She demanded. I just chuckled but decided to not answer her.
When I was done, I opened my door to go downstairs but I was startled when I saw Sofia outside my room.
"You scared me!" I said while laughing.
She didn't talk and I saw that she's looking at what I am wearing.
"Don't talk. We'll be late" I said and grabbed her hand.
She still looked bewildered but she didn't have the chance to react because I made her enter her car and I walked to mine.
I wasn't wearing a volleyball uniform because instead, I was wearing a simple P.E. uniform for the reason that I am not comfortable wearing volleyball short in front of the eyes of other people.
I arrived at the school gym and saw that everyone is busy. I saw a bunch of girls who probably are just like me. We went here to try out and luckily, to be part of the team.
Their coach entered the gym and she made us all sit. She explained that they will just choose five players from us and without wasting more time, we started playing to show off what we got.
Sofia was looking at me the whole time. I just played like how I normally do when the two of us are playing.
When we were done, the coach made us sit again and eyed all of us until her eyes landed on me.
"You," She said.
"Y-yes?" I asked nervously.
"What is your name?" She asked.
"S-Samantha, coach" I replied politely.
She nodded before speaking again.
"Aren't you having a hard time playing with eyeglasses?" She asked curiously.
"I-I have no choice" I replied politely again.
"Don't you have any volleyball uniform? Your clothes look uncomfortable" She said.
I didn't talk back so she speaks again.
"I like you. I love how you played. Why didn't you join from the very beginning?" She asked curiously.
I blushed with the compliment and just simply said that I didn't have enough confidence to do so.
She nodded before choosing the remaining players. She then dismissed us because we still need to attend our class.
Some of the unfortunate players glared at me so I hurriedly pick up my things and was about to change clothes when someone grabbed me and hugged me.
"Proud little sis here," Sofia said and I smiled before hugging her back.
"Silly. Let go. We still have classes to attend to" I said before pulling out.
