80's Night

Turns out the 80's themed roller rink was tonight and Eli had texted me the details about two hours before. I responded by telling him me and my friend were going to head there early and start skating. He said okay and told me he would arrive with Miguel. I heard a ring downstairs so I grabbed my blue jean jacket and threw it over my costume. I grabbed my phone and some cash before running downstairs.

When I reached the door, Nick was standing there in a ghost busters costume. "You ready?" He asked, tossing me the keys to his car.

"Yup." I answered walking over to the drivers side. I told Eli that he was the only one I'd ever told about my dad, and while that was true, Nick already knew, so whenever we went anywhere together, he let me drive and be in control.

When we reached the roller rink, there were already multiple cars there. We quickly walked inside and found a table. I threw my jacket on the booth seats and my arms were automatically filled with shivers. The reason being, I was wearing a pink bikini top (silly I know) that held everything in place so I didn't need to worry and pink paper-bag shorts with cartoon images on them. Before I came, I had a shower and braided my red hair tight, when it came time to get ready, I took the braids out and combed through the waves. I had taken a section of my hair and tied it on top of my head with a white scrunchie.

"I'm gonna beat your ass." Nick said to me as we walked over to the front desk to rent some skates. We told the man our sizes and took the shoes over to our booth.

"You say that all the time, and what happens all the time, you loose." I remind him in the nicest way possible. The rink was already packed and people were skating in circles.

"Let's go." Nick said, grabbing my hands and tugging me over to the rink. When we reached the edge of the rink Nick tagged me and called "Your it!" Like a little kid before swiftly slipping into the rink and skating away.

I quickly got into the rink and started skating, years of it with Nick coming back to me in a second. I picked up speed and chased after him, weaving in and out of kids. I was gaining on him and came up behind him and tagged him before zipping past him and turning so I was skating backwards, taunting him and laughing.

After about a half hour, we decided to take a break. As we are skating over to our booth I see Miguel and Eli arrive. He was wearing a white tee shirt with thin black stripes and a pair of long loose blue jeans, he looked like Zach. I continue to look at him when I notice something else as well, his hair was down and floppy. He's worn it like I'd asked him.  While Miguel simply wore an 80's styled Cobra Kai leather jacket. "What are you smiling about?" Nick asked as we sat down at our booth.

"Nothing." I reply, tucking my head down and flinging my ponytail behind my shoulder.

"Mhm, you know I can read you like a bright neon sign right?" He smirked, crossing his arms and leaning back into the cushions.

"Okay, then what do I say?" I raise my eyebrow and mimic him.

"Him." Was all he said and gestured over my shoulder.

"Who?" I asked, turning around and expecting to see Eli, I saw someone else instead.

"Him." He repeated. Him actually turned out to be Robby. He was wearing a white suit with a blue undershirt and his hair hung limply and standing behind him was Sam, dressed in a pink dress with her hair curled in tight ringlets making it look shorter than it really was.

I turned my head back to Nick, my smile wiped clean off my face. "What do you mean?" I asked, trying to brush it off. "Robby? We're just friends." I shrug, trying to hide the disappointment.
