.investigation and A weird dream.

Armin's P. O. V.

It's been 2 days since i met Annie. I can't get her out of my mind....the more i don't want to think of her the more my brain decides to remember her.. sometimes i hear a voice at the back of my head telling me to to remember. Remember what exactly?

I closed my eyes for a moment trying to regain focus. I look back at the files and information the police gave me for Mr.leonhardt's case and i could tell something was off.

Mr. Leonhardt arrived at his friend's house at 8 pm then left at 9:30 to buy some food for him and his friend. But was then suddenly arrested? I check the video of the security camera's that eren sent me.

Mr. Leonhardt walked out of the convience store and near him was a lady who looked like in her mid 30's who fell asleep on the bench, her bag vulnerable as it hanged loosely in her right arm.

A suspicious looking man then walked up to the woman, the camera then started glitching and next i see is mr leonhardt was holding the bag and the man ran away while the lady got mad at mr. Leonhardt accusing him of theft and calling the cops.

It's not mr. Leonhardt.....he was framed and the real suspect was that man who ran off.

There must be some witnesses though when this happened....it wasn't very late at night yet and I'm sure people were around the area. I looked closely in the video and there the convenience store cashier saw it! He hid under the counter.

I need to find this guy.

-timeskip: convenience store-

I walked in the store looking for the manager, i asked her about the employee who was here the night there was a robbery.

She pointed at the direction of a man mopping the floor.

Excuse me sir? I tap his shoulder.

What do you want? He stopped his task and gave me an annoyed look.

Sir can i talk to you about what happened the night a theft happened here..? His face changed when i said those words his annoyed face turned into a nervous one. Suspicious.

W-why? They caught the criminal didn't they? So what's the point? He dismissed and went back to work.

This time i held his arm a bit more forcefully, Look i know you know that it wasn't that poor man who got accused who did it. I whispered lowly.

He gulped and took me to their break room.

He sat down and sighed. Alright I'll tell you what i know... Just please i don't want to go to jail. He pleaded.

I nod and sat down.

I'm greiz and i work here as a cashier and sometimes a janitor, robberies of customers here are often.....and i know who does them. He shifted his gaze from me to a wanted poster in the wall. I look at it and saw "Wanted: kenny the ripper" a mass murderer and thief.

That. That man is who does it, when tried to call the cops on him the first time..... He pointed a gun on my head threatening me that if i ever dared to snitch he'll blow my head into pieces. That's why every robbery i turned a blind eye pretending to not know a thing. Greiz confessed.

I see.... Then this a thief is a bigger threat than i originally thought. Greiz... I need you as witness to prove Mr. Leonhardt guilty and for kenny to get caught. I tell the shaking man.

N-no if h-he does he'll kill me!! Greiz shook even more.

I held him by his shoulders, hey... I have friends in the police force I'm sure they'll protect you if you come with me... I plead.

N-no you don't understand that man is stronger than any police officer that's why he's been running around freely! He explains to me.

But greiz you can help us stop him! And you clearly haven't met the police's strongest force yet, Chief of police captain levi would surely bring him down if it ever came to it. I reassured him.

Are you sure.....? What if....? He asks still in doubt.

Trust me greiz.

Alright. He finally agrees.

And i took him to the station where he'll be interviewed by hange and moblit.

I visited Mr. Leonhardt, Good afternoon sir.. I know we haven't formally met so I'm here to introduce myself. Armin Arlert your lawyer. I offer him my hand which he gladly shook.

Annie's told me about you... He says, catching me off guard wait could annie be here?

I became nervous at the thought and my face felt warm. Shit. I'm acting like a highschool boy infront of a client and on top of that it's Annie's dad.

He laughs at my current expression and eyed me.

I can tell you like my daughter. But just know that if you dare hurt her i swear i wouldn't mind living the rest of my life behind bars just to get you. He glared then switched back to being calm.

I gulped a bit and decided to play along. I won't sir and besides you saying that isn't going to help your case at all. I chuckled a bit.

He laughed again too and then asked what i was here for. I told him about my discovery and he told me the full story.

After he got out off the store a man who was lurking in the shadows ran up to the sleeping lady and took her bag the lady then started to get up, so the man frantically shoved the bag in his arms making him drop his groceries and the guy ran away. The woman who just woke up angrily walked up to him and called him a thief and reported him to the cops refusing to hear him out.

I symphatized Mr. Leonhardt he was a victim wrongly accused.

After talking a bit more to Mr. Leonhardt i left the station and called annie asking if she's free tomorrow so i can update her on what i found.

She agreed to meet up at the nearby cafe , cafè sheena.

Although i knew this was a professional meeting i couldn't help but feel giddy hearing her voice as if i missed hearing for years now.

I went to bed happily that night.

I woke up in a pile of sand, and saw eren and mikasa who looked at me in tears.

Armin! They both said and gave me a tight hug.

G-guys i-ican't breathe!! I struggled under their strong grasps.

Sorry! They both apologized and let me go.

What's happening all i remember is dying from old age.... I scratched the back of my head.

Well.. You are dead... But it's hard to explain but we'll get to be reborn again. Have a restart in a world without titans where we can live freely. Eren told me.

I then think back to annie all those years ago.

Ah... I see. So this is how it happens huh? I ask him.

Yeah. He answered seemingly knowing what i was thinking of.

Mikasa held eren and my hand.
Now that we're complete why don't you say we join the others? She smiled.

Alright. I agree but stopped and held eren.

Eren... I want to be able to remember....all this..... My old memories before we go there. I said.

Don't worry armin, I figured you would.. So i did the work for you already and you'll recall your memories. Eren tells me and grabs both mikasa and I going into the light of a new start.
