Chapter 49: A Night We'll Never Forget (Part 2)

(Saturday Night.)

People arrived at the big dance one by one in groups and couples. People were dancing, some were having food, others simply enjoyed the music. Carrie and her family walk in and hand in their invites. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot went to go chat with other toons and Lauren went to go talk with Hamton. Cassidy and Crakko just sat at the table with their coloring book. Carrie looked around and then looks at Cassidy and Crakko. "I'll go get you guys some snacks. You promise to be good?" The two of them both nod their heads and Crakko spoke. "Yes. We're Good." She nodded and walked to the snack bar.

Carrie grabbed them some fried shrimp for the two to share and then sees Betty Boop come up to her. "Pardon Me doll, but you're Carrie Nelson, correct?" She asked and Carrie laughed a bit. "Guilty." "Really? Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm actually meeting THE Carrie Warner-Nelson in person!" Carrie smiles and shakes her hand with her free one. "Well I am a big fan of your cartoons growing up as a kid, Betty. You're such a sweet toon yourself." Betty smiles and shook it back. "Oh of course. And your kids are so sweet and kind. Boop boop-be doop. Boop!" Carrie chuckles at her antics. "Yeah. I know you still have it." She went away for a bit, handing her kids the fried shrimp.

Yakko was watching his brother dance with MacKenzie when he felt a tap on his shoulder. "You're a long ways pass Carrie." He turned to the voice as he sees a Toon Amelia. "Mrs. Nelson?" "I guess I chose the right time to meet you." she chuckles as he shook her hand. "Wow. You're really here in front of everyone, but how?" Yakko asked her and Amelia tells him how she is here. "Lucille gave me a chance and welcomed me to Toon Town as a toon. The others are still keeping a watchful eye on me so I don't try anything stupid." Yakko immediately brought her over to Carrie.

"Hey Yakko, Who's your friend that you want to introduce me to?" Carrie asked but then stops him from answering that question. "Mom? Is that you?" She asked her and Amelia nodded. "Yes, Carrie. I came here for this moment to see you here." The two share an embrace as Daniel and Cassandra both come over. "Amelia, Darling. But you- I- W-we just-" "It's okay Daniel dearest.. I'm here for my daughter, and that's all what really matters. This must be Cassandra. Hi there Ma'am." Cassandra held out a hand and shook it. "I'm really doing my all to keep your husband happy." "I know you are. I would have wanted him to move on." Amelia whispers as she gave her a friendly hug. "Welcome to the family." Carrie, Yakko, Cassidy and Crakko all gave an awe at the scene as everyone enjoyed the night in front of them.

(Much later.)

"Alright everyone. I'm glad you are all having the time of your lives, but now it's time to announce our Dancing King and Queen of the Year." Norita gets the envelope passed to her and she opens it. "And our winners this time around are.." She takes out the paper and read the names. "Yakko Warner and Carrie Warner-Nelson!" Carrie and Yakko looked at each other and everyone uproared in cheers. The two began to walk to the stage. Up above, Chloe was holding the rope when she felt a sneeze coming on. "Aaa.. Aaaa! ACHOOO!" She moved her face into her sleeves, but also moved her arms, pulling the rope in the process. "Damn it Chloe!" Raquel groans as the food coloring splashes on the floor without Carrie getting dunked in it.

The music abruptly came to a halt as Norita looked at it confused. "I'm gonna go check it out." She went behind the curtain and walked up the stairs to the rafters as Carrie took off her crown, the crowd murmuring about who could be behind this devilish scheme. "Carrie darling, is something wrong?" Yakko asked as Pinky and Brain helped clean up the mess. "It's fine. I'm happy that we both won, but I want to give this to someone who really deserves it. MacKenzie?" She handed her crown over to her and the sash as well, as did Yakko to Wakko. MacKenzie puts them on and looked at Carrie. "Thank you so much Carrie. I really consider you as my best friend now." The two hug each other as everyone awwed.

Norita and Ralph came back holding onto Raquel and Chloe as Ralph talked to the crowd. "Duuuhh we founds the masterminds!" He tells them as people began booing at Raquel and Chloe. "YOU ALL SUCK!! AS DO YOU CARRIE!!" Raquel yelled at her. "Thanks for getting us into trouble MacKenzie." Chloe spat at her, but she missed as MacKenzie smirks. "You're welcome." The two get carried away as Carrie began to go into song as they passed by. "You can't stop the avalanche as it races down the hill. You can try to stop the seasons girl, but you know you never will. And you can try to stop my dancing feet, but I just can not stand still! Cause the world keeps spinning round and round, and my heart's keeping time to the speed of sound! I was lost till I heard the toons, and I found my way!" Then Yakko joined her in song as they both sang together.

"Cause you can't stop the beat! Ever since this whole world began, a woman found out if she shook it, she could shake up a man, and so I'm gonna shake and shimmy it the best that I can today! You can't stop the beat." They finish their verse and Wakko and MacKenzie both get up onto the stage together.

"You can't stop the river as it rushes to the sea." MacKenzie sang as she points to Wakko. "You can try to stop the hands of time, but you know it just can't be." "And if they try to stop us Wakko, I got my friends on my side with me!" They both raise their hands into the air and hugged each other, twirling around. Norita and Ralph came in as everyone was doing a synchronized dance together. She goes up to Carrie and looked on at everyone dancing. "Carrie, this is really turning out to be a nice lookout. Everyone is having a good time." Carrie nodded and sighs sweetly. "Yeah it is. Hey, do you want to sing the next part Norita?" She asked her and then Norita shakes her head. "Oh no, no. I just came up here to hear everyone better." Carrie gave her a mic. "Aw come on, just once? I won't ask for this the next time we host a dance." "Alright fine, maybe just a little." And Norita takes it and began to sing for everyone.

Cause you can't stop the beat!" The crowd sang and then Daniel and Amelia both follow up together. "You can't stop the beat!" "You can't stop the beat!" Lauren, Cassidy and Crakko sang together. "You can't stop the- You can't stop the Beat!!!" Everyone sang together and Carrie holds onto Yakko, kissing him deeply as everyone enjoyed their night united as one.
