After the cake, Carrie and Lauren helped clean up the kitchen with Yakko drying things off. Cassidy waddled over to the storage closet and pulled out a photo frame of Serafima and Eddie and pulling out Sera's detective outfit. She comes back out and went over to Carrie as she finished the dishes. "Momma? Who's this?" Cassidy asked as she held out the photo to her. Carrie looked at her and picked it up. "Oh, I haven't seen this photo in forever. This is of my Great-Grandmother, Serafima." Her eyes laid on the photo and Yakko takes a look at it. "I can see where the hair comes from."
Carrie sat down on the counter. "I remember Granny telling me that her family was very clean and neat freaks, that they scrubbed their house daily to not risk infection from the Spanish Flu." Lauren looked at the outfit. "Wow. This looks so genuine and in such good condition." She spins around and tries it on. It fit her just like a glove. It felt just right. Carrie looked at her calendar for what the day was and she sees some writing on the day. "'Reincarnation Choosing.' Oh this is perfect." Wakko looked confused. "Reincarnation Choosing..? What do you do?" Carrie looked at Wakko and tells him what she does for it. "Well, cause I can choose who gets a second chance for life to start over again, I can give them a different form. An animal, another human. Anything you can imagine."
"How about a cartoon form?" Dot asked, curious about it. She looked through the rule books of her being an angel. There was no rule that the form can't be a cartoon. "I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to break any kind of rule about forbidden forms." Carrie sighs softly, feeling relieved. Crakko clapped his hands, excited. "Yay! Angel!" He cheered and Carrie pats his head. "Yes that's right dear. You're such a clever little boy." When night fell, She leaves to the forest, going through the trees and passing by rocks. Carrie cupped her hands together, remembering a time talking to Roger and Jessica about Serafima.
(Flashback into Toon Town, 2008. Carrie's 29.)
It was a few months after the passing of her grandmother, Lucille, and Carrie was quite upset about the situation. She held onto the photo frame of Little Lucy as a kid with a young Serafima, and then sees something in the distance. Her eyes squint and she sees a sign for Toon Town. Going through the entrance, she looks around the place of color that surrounded her. It all felt like a fever dream, but it wasn't. Carrie continued walking around until she heard a familiar voice call her name. "Carrie! About time you found Toon Town." Carrie turned to meet Roger and Jessica. "Jeepers! It's good to see you again!" Roger cheers and shook her hand. Carrie shook it back and then Jessica notices the photo frame in her hand.
"Hey, what's that?" She asked her and Carrie shows her the photo frame. "This here is my great grandmother. Isn't she so sweet?" Carrie grinned but then Roger began crying when he saw it. "Oh Sera.. Poor Sera!" He wailed as Jessica comforted him. "Huh. I knew the middle name sounded familiar.. Sera was a good friend of ours. How come you never told us about your relation to Sera." Jessica spoke and Carrie rubbed her neck. "Little Lucy always loved Roger's cartoons growing up. Where is Lucy?" Carrie immediately froze and finally spit out the truth. "She passed a couple months ago.. I just randomly came across Toon Town on my own."
The two comforted her and Jessica pats her head. "Hey, it's okay. I just wish we could have time to say goodbye to her and to Sera when we had the chance." Carrie lets out a shaky sigh, still feeling the weight of the grief on her back. "Yeah.. It's nice to see you guys again." Her voice wavered as she wiped her cheeks dry. Her watch rings and she looks at the time. "Oh shoot! It's the end of school for my little girl. I gotta go." Carrie gasps and then left Toon Town, while Roger and Jessica waved goodbye. "Happy Trails!" Roger called to her. "Come on Roger, let's go in and play." Jessica leads him back to their house.
(End.)
Carrie knelt onto the ground as she turned into her human guardian form. "Wisps, today I have made my decision. I want my Great grandmother and her 2nd husband Eddie to be reincarnated as toons into Toon Town." She spoke up, placing her hands onto the grass below her. The wisps looked at each other and nodded before granting her reincarnation wish. Carrie blinks as she turned back to her toon form. "The deed has been done.. Amusez-vous dans cette nouvelle vie vous deux.." Her french side came out again as she left the forest.
((Translation: Have fun in this new life you two.))
(Meanwhile)
"Checkmate Ed.." Serafima knocks out Eddie's last chess piece as their soul selfs. "Aw come on, Sera. You always get the best of me at this game." He rolled his eyes until he sees them glowing together. "W-wait a minute. What's going on?" Serafima looks at her hands as they acquired toon gloves, and she hears Carrie's wish reciprocated. "I think we have been given a reincarnation.." The two ended up in Toon Town and they looked at each other. "You're a cartoon!" Eddie yelled in shock. "So are you!" Serafima points back at him until she sees a crowd of shocked faces. "Uh.. I think we got company.."
The whole population of Toon Town had gathered to unveil the statue of the two together when they turned to see them there as toons. Then the entire crowd cheered and brought them into a huge group hug, Roger leading the pack. "Oh Sera! Eddie! How did you even get here..?" Serafima hushed the rabbit. "Don't question it, pal.. We're here for a second chance, and that's all that matters.."
