The wind drifted through my vibrant red hair, my cheeks were pink from running miles, I could feel my heart, thumping against my chest, I was panting for breath but I had no choice, I could not stop now! It was stupid of me to get out of the jeep in the first place, why had I been mesmerized by the beast's beauty. Why had I stepped out of safety? I could feel my overwhelming thoughts, pondering inside my brain. It was not the tiger's fault, it was mine, shouldn't have entered their domain. My legs were throbbing from the run, my hands had gashes from lashing against the needle-like branches, and my clothes were havoc from all the splinters. I could feel the tiger's hollow grumble following me without hesitation; I could hear the clatter of its gentle paws against the damp ground I could see saliva dripping out of its mouth, ready to pounce at any moment.
I saw flashes of myself being torn apart by the savage animal's gleaming white teeth, now stained red by my own blood. Its piercing eyes now filled with pride and chest swollen. I could picture it carrying me to his family for a good night's dessert. I could not run much longer, after all, I was carrying plenty of weight; I could feel my speed declining little by little. Would I be able to survive? Probably not said a little voice in my head, but I was not going to lose hope just yet, I was not going to be the tiger's meal... Not Today, not ever.
Suddenly my vision subsided to black, my legs no longer supported my body I lost my train of thought. I had passed out and I could feel the tiger's warm breath on my face. I slowly tried opening my eyes, but they unexpectedly weighed a ton. I could feel the animal's drool on my face, I was petrified. I prayed for a fast death, I wanted it to get over. I could sense myself gaining consciousness, but I could not move, I was frozen by fear. Surprisingly, the tiger put its paw, tenderly on my stomach, it knew I was carrying another life inside my womb. I figured she was a tigress, I noticed her maternal instincts reacting. I regained my optimism; I could listen to the tigress's feet, splattering against the water, moving away from my fragile body... Nature was truly astonishing; I could hardly believe my luck to have come across a female tiger. One that would care about the life inside of me, one that would not hurt a child. Destiny really does play a great role in life...
