I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I just knew I needed to get Mattheo off my mind.

Last night had been a disaster. I went to visit Marco in the infirmary after Mattheo had left. He had a huge bruise on the side of his face. It was a mix of purples and blues. I felt so terrible for what happened to him. I apologized a thousand times, and even thought he accepted each one I still felt bad. Like it was my fault. Well I suppose it was.

It was wrong what Mattheo did, but I still felt a pang of satisfaction that he was jealous. I just can't get his words out of my head. I was protecting you! I still wasn't sure what he meant. Except that he cares for me too. He must care to want to protect me, right?

Marco should be back in the dorms by now. Madam Pomphrey said the wound wasn't deep and it would heal overtime. I don't want to be in Gryffindor house. I can't face him. I'm still so embarrassed. I was going to leave when Olivia entered our dorm.

"Hey Liv", I said as she took her shoes off.

She looked up from the floor. "Hey Hermoine, what's up?"

"Not much. Just about to go to Diagon Alley", I announce. I'm not sure what possesses me to ask, but I do. "Want to come with me?"

She makes an unsure face. "Well... I'm supposed to be going out with Draco", She slightly frowns then suddenly perks up. "But a girls day sounds pretty fun!"

"Are you sure? You don't have to if-"

"No!", she cuts me off. "This is gonna be great. Just let me go tell Draco not to wait up and I'll meet you in the common room. All right?"

"All right", I agree.

Girls day. I've never really had one of those. My only friends were ever Ron and Harry. And as great as they were, they weren't "girls day" material. I'm actually excited for this. It would give me a better opportunity to get to know Olivia. I remember Gia's warning to stay away from her, then quickly brush it aside. Her threats are mindless. And besides, nobody tells me who and who not to be with. Especially not someone like Gia.

I find Olivia in the common room where she said she'd be. She's wearing a loose jacket with her usual black skirt. She sees me and smiles. I whip out my wand and apparate us to Diagon Alley.

The streets are buzzing with life. Every way you turn there's a shoulder to bump into or a voice in your ear. And as always, it's cloudy.

"So what's first on the agenda?", Olivia asks beside me.

I shrug. "I haven't thought about it".

She looks around then pointes abruptly. "Look! Let's go clothes shopping!"

I could stock up on more winter clothes. The weather seems to be getting worse everyday. But shopping with Olivia sounds a little wild. Her clothing taste is the exact opposite of her personality. It truly makes no sense. Nonetheless we walk into the little boutique anyway.

A gust of hot air hits me in the face when I enter. I'm thankful for the heat. The walls are painted with pink and white stripes. The floor is a light brown color that creaks when you walk on it. Racks of clothes are placed in the middle of the room. The cashiers desk in the corner.

Olivia and I split up to go to separate racks. Most of the clothes I see consist of bright colors. Definitely not Liv's style at all.

After a while I have a blue sweater and new jacket in my hands. When I go back to see what Olivia has found I see her hands are empty and she's frowning. I had a feeling she wouldn't find anything.

"This is ridiculous! They can't expect me to wear any of this!", She whisper-shouts.

I laugh to myself. "Well maybe next time". I pat her shoulder reassuringly.
