"So how exactly do you play?""Well you start by putting them in a row face down, like this, and leave the top one face up. The object is to get the most amount of points. So start with the king, then queen, then joker, and lastly go down from ten."
"This is too complicated."
"It's not. You just need to pay attention to what I'm saying."
"I am and it sounds like a bunch of gibberish."
"Then why did you even ask me to explain the rules?"
"Because you're sitting over here playing with Draco and I don't understand a thing!"
"Hermione, just watch and maybe you'll get it."
I roll my eyes. "Fine.", I say annoyed at Mattheo.
Right now it's nine pm and I'm in the Slytherin common room sat on a loveseat with Mattheo beside me. Him and Draco have been in a long back and forth game of solitaire and I've had to do nothing but sit and watch. It's rare for me to not understand something, but the rules are just going over my head. Maybe it's because I'm sleepy.
Oh right, me and Draco aren't on bad terms anymore. Of course I'm still beyond pissed at the way he treated Liv, but there's nothing I can do about that now. Plus he's Mattheo's cousin and best friend so I don't really have a choice but to be civil. I haven't told Liv any of this though. I'm afraid it would hurt her if I told her I've been spending time with Draco.
Sat in a chair facing Mattheo and I, Draco places another card down and speaks. "I win again."
"Dammit!", Mattheo yells, slapping the edge of the wooden coffee table in between us and Draco. "I had that."
Draco leans back with a smirk. "Sure you did", he mocks.
"Come on, one more game!", he pleads.
"No can do," Draco says. "I'm not drunk enough to listen to you tonight. I'm going to my room." He stands up and heads for the dormitories.
"Pussy!", Mattheo shouts behind him.
That causes me to laugh. I sigh before speaking, "Well I have to go too. See you tomorrow?"
He nods.
I stand up and start to walk off. "Bye Matt."
"See ya- Wait. What did you just call me?"
"Matt?"
"Never say that again. That is the most awful nickname."
"I think it's cute."
"Yeah for a dog maybe."
"Oh hush. I'm leaving. Night Matt.", I tease.
"Bye Hermes."
I pause. "Hermes? Seriously?"
He only cockily shrugs.
I reach for a throw pillow sat on the edgy of the loveseat and without warning, toss it at him. He catches the pillow before it can hit him and forcefully chucks it back at me. Unfortunately, my reflex's are not as quick as his and the pillow slaps me right in the face. Immediately Mattheo starts laughing. I bite my lip to stop myself from smiling as to show him I'm "angry" about this.
I reach down to grab the pillow as Mattheo puts his hands up in front of his face to shield it. I put my entire strength into winding my arm back and in one quick motion I throw my arm forward like a slingshot and the pillow goes flying. Oh crap.
Once Mattheo realizes nothing came in contact with him he slowly drops his arms and looks around.
The pillow had gotten out of control and went into a different direction then I had planned. It shot behind the little couch and hit dead on with Pansy. My eyes widen as she stares at me with a soaked top. The pillow had knocked a cup of water out of her hands and all over her clothes. Only this would happen to me.
