TW for minor harassment

Why is he rushing so much?
Not a safe neighborhood... what does that mean?

I thought as I decided to listen to him and start heading back.

As I started walking I noticed this old man standing in front of his front door of his house, watching me from the distance.
I felt slightly uneasy from his stare but decided to shrug it off as I looked away and continued walking.

But when I looked up at him once again, he wasn't at the front door but out at the actual front of his house.
There was a patch of grass in front of his door, like a small yard, and there was also a gate to guard the house which he was now in front of.

I'm overthinking right? I shouldn't be so afraid right now.
But I do know so many stories where people get kidnapped. Especially girls.

What should I do? I want to go back home but I have to pass his house to do so.
And I'm walking towards it right now.

I decided to go on my phone and stay in place, hoping that Dylan would be quick enough to come pick me up.
It was only two miles, he shouldn't take long. 5 minutes at max.

For safety I sent Dylan my location but as I was doing so the old man talked to me.

"Darling, come over here for a second!"

He yelled from his house.
I froze for a second since he was talking to me, because no one else was here, and he was calling me over to him. The last thing I wanted to do was associate with him, he gave me really bad feelings about him.

That 'darling' made me feel uncomfortable.

But at the same time he didn't sound dangerous, his voice sounded easygoing and friendly.
I decided to give him a chance and be nice to him, hence why I went over to him.

"How can I help you?"

I ask trying to sound friendly but not too friendly.

"You must be exhausted, would you like a drink?"

He asks pointing at his house.

Red flag. Never going to go into his house. Never.

I thought as I smiled and shook my head politely.

"No thank you,"

"Are you sure? You don't have to hesitate or be polite, water? Maybe juice? I have tea too, whatever you'd like."

He calmly says smiling.

"Really, no thank you, my ride is coming in seconds."

I inform him, with a hint of warning for him.
I decided to pull my phone out to dial Dylan since I was slightly scared now.

"I'll make it quick."

He says coming closer to me before I could dial.

"U-uhm no really, it's fine."

I stutter as his action scared me.
But the next thing I know his hand is around my arm.

"Come on, let's get you a drink."

He says tugging my arm a little.
I stay frozen in spot, unable to do or say anything.

My heart was racing and I only felt fear as this man smiled at me, gripping my arm.
My mind went blank, not knowing what I should do as my body started to shake.
