The Colorist Demon (Part 1)

Zane and his shadow

Charlie was in her office minding her own business until she has a phone call. She looked at it and saw that her dad was calling her.

"Hey Dad. Is there something you want? What?" Charlie was shaking and was breathing heavily. "H-He's home? When?"

After the moments of talking to her father, she clicked the mute button and was crying because her brother is home. Not from sadness, but happiness. She did not know that Zane was her lost brother years ago.

"Did he come back to your hotel?"

Charlie quickly wiped her tears. "No. Why?"

It was a long pause until Lucifer finally told her "He found his old room and I was explaining to him why I have to do it. But instead he did not listen to me and ran out of the house. I sent my Royal guards to find him but they couldn't find him in the city and I thought that he's probably at your hotel!" Lucifer was very worried of Zane for some reason.

"Dad what are you worried about?"

"Extermination day is in an hour."

Charlie dropped her phone out of fear and think of one terrible possibility of what will happen to Zane if they don't find him. After the phone call, Charlie immediately called the crew and said to go find Zane and hurry!

"Where are you?"

Zane was all alone. He felt like if he comes back everything will change now. It felt like he needs to cry but there was no point. He found the truth and felt that his life was a lie.

Then he felt a hand on his shoulder to turn to see his shadow.

"Leave me alone"

The shadow did not listen.

"I said leave me ALONE!"

The shadow still not listen and tries to gesture something.

"What are you trying to tell me?! That I need to go back?!"

The shadow shook its head and pointed to Zane.

"Is there something on me cuz if there is it's not a big deal."

The shadow point at Zane again but Zane now knows what the shadow is pointing now. His special necklace.

"You're right. I don't need it anymore." Zane took off his necklace and threw as far as possible.

The Shadow hurry to catch the necklace. "Why did you get it?"

The shadow floated towards Zane and put the necklace on. Colorful flames surrounded The Shadow and Zane does not know what's going on. The flames disappeared to reveal the colorful demon.

"I know you're upset but running away is not the answer Zane." The colorful demon set next to Zane.

"How are you here?"

"The necklace. Your father created that necklace for you so that you will never be alone that's why I exist. If anything happens to it I will cease to exist and the powers that you possess will no longer be with you."

Zane remains silent, not wanting to talk to his other self.

"I was with you from the beginning. Your family loved you. Charlie was happy that she finally have a brother instead of being an only child. Lucifer wanted you to have a perfect life. But Haven had other plans. They were not happy that Lucifer has another child and tried to kill you. He made a plan to send you in the living world so they won't intervene and harm you. It's not his fault. To me, good and evil is just an illusion. I just wanted everyone to smile and have a great time. Remember the first show that you did down here? I was in control. You didn't use too much power to make you forget the event. I knew that you did it to save Anthony."

Zane was shocked to hear that somehow his other self knows Angel dust real name. "That's his real name?"

"Yes it is. I saw his past. He went through a lot. His family doesn't appreciate him the way he is. Only his sister does. He's been all alone for years and the only person that helps him is Cherri."

Zane couldn't believe it. The other part of himself knows Anthony's past.

"Why are you telling me this?"

His other self put his hand on his shoulder. "Because you and I both know we care for them. When Charlie spoke of her plans about redemption. I thought she is on to something. It sounded like a great idea. But every demon including her own father did not believe her and thought it was a joke."

"How are you here? Because I thought transforming into my colorful form only brings my real self out."

"That is true. How I'm here without not being here. It's because I'm your shadow. Your normal or colorful form really doesn't matter. I was watching you all these years. Making sure that you are not going in the wrong direction."

Zane felt so depressed. He just wanted a normal life. But it end up getting him killed and sent to Hell. The shadow can see that he's getting more upset and needs to do something. The shadow uses magic to teleport him and Zane into a realm.

It was the very same world that he was in days ago. "This world was your creation. You wanted a world where everyone can be the same and be at peace."

Zane looked around the world and told his shadow "Yeah well none of it's working in hell. Every time I try to show everyone to have a good time it just ended up into a shitshow."

"But you keep getting up and that is a reason that you kept going. You care for your friends and you treat them like a family. That is rare in hell! You told them your true feelings. And in Hell, nobody ever tells each other's feelings because they're afraid that it will show their weakness. But not you. It only made you stronger. That's why you should go back, forgive your father, and be a family again."

Zane did not say anything for a long time. He gained the courage and stood up and said "You're right. I can't change my past. But I will change the future. Once I go back, I will forgive him. As a son should do."

The shadow smiled with gratitude. The shadow teleport them back to where they were. "One more thing Zane, turn that frown upside down."

Zane finish the sentence. "And show your true colors."

The shadow give Zane back his necklace and disappeared. He put it back on and started walking back to the city until he heard sirens from a distance. He checked his phone to see what time it is and saw that he had missed calls. It was Charlie.

He called Charlie and she immediately picked up "Zane where are you?! You need to come back to the hotel right now!"

"I got unfinished business to do." "You can do that tomorrow, just get back to the hotel!"

"Why do you want me to go back to the hotel?"

"It's Extermination Day!" Then the call was cut.

"Charlie? CHARLIE?!" Then he turn around to see Angels started coming down from heaven with armor and Spears on them. "Oh No!"
