Almost two months had passed by, faster than Genevieve had originally suspected. Her friendship with Loki was continuously growing at a rapid rate, something that she— or anyone for that matter— couldn't have ever imagined would be possible. At this point, the two were essentially joint at the hip, spending all of their free time together either reading books, watching movies, or just talking. She could tell that Loki was really putting effort into their friendship, and knowing that made her heart fill with pure joy.

As promised, there were weekly check-ins every Wednesday for the past seven weeks— however the times the team came up to their shared floor varied, as they wanted to ensure that nothing was being pre planned— and it inordinately amazed the team to see how exponentially well the two were getting along; how genuine they were being with each other. Loki and Genevieve were creating their own inside jokes, they were reading with each other, they were having dinner together every night. It was like they physically couldn't leave one another's side.

The only time throughout the day where the two were separated was when Genevieve had her training sessions with Natasha. And even then, all Genevieve could talk about was how great her living situation was. This became quite irritable for Natasha early on, so eventually Genevieve kept all of her thoughts to herself and Loki was never brought up during training again. But Natasha didn't have to ask Genevieve to know that her mind was constantly daydreaming and thinking about Loki. It worried her that Genevieve was getting attached way too quickly but she didn't really have anything to back her claims up with since Loki was, in fact, complying with the Avengers' demands.

That was the bit that surprised the Avengers the most, more so then Loki befriending Genevieve. He complied with everything that they had asked of him. Going to lunches with his brother to mend their relationship and attending meetings with Nick Fury just to name a couple. The team didn't have anything they could really say about Loki, other than the fact that he was proving himself to be a good friend for Genevieve and he wasn't causing any trouble. Yet, the Avengers were still weary about him, knowing that a trickster of his magnitude required waiting for the right moment and the right time. The team wasn't completely trusting of him, but they decided to wait it out until, eventually, something happened.

It was the beginning of Loki's eighth week being present in Avengers Tower when the two residents were in their living room reading. Genevieve had decided a couple of days prior that she would start reading Emma by Jane Austen while Loki was about half way through a Norse mythology novel that Thor had gifted Genevieve for her eighteenth birthday.
