Stage 1, Aloofness

It was a normal day for Lucy Heartfilia, she was walking along the snow-covered cobblestone path that led to Fiores number 1 guild. As the Blond entered the Fairy Tail guild, she dodged flying Chairs, Tables, Cups, empty beer bottles, and even a shoe. Somebody had started another Bar fight and she had a pretty good guess as to who did it. She looked around for the guilds resident pinkette fire dragon slayer, Natsu Dragneel. But much to Lucy's surprise, he was sitting in the corner of the guild, as far away from everyone as possible, holding an annoyed look on his face.
'Thats odd, Natsu's always itching for a fight, why does he look so mad?' Lucy wondered, making her way over to him.
"Hey Natsu! Are you okay?" Lucy greeted, a twinge of worry in her voice. He looked up and stared at her, his eyes a cold onyx.
"Tch. I'm fine. Just leave me alone." Natsu stood up and walked out the guild, ignoring the bar fight completely.
"Oh dear, is it that time for Natsu again?" Mira asked, wiping down a cup.
"What time? What are you talking about?" Lucy asked, worried for her best friend.
Mira looked at Lucy confusedly before exclaiming, "Oh! You don't know about DSMS do you? Reedus, hand me your light pen please!"
Mira put down the cup she was washing as Reedus handed her the pen. "Thanks Reedus!"
"Oùi." He replied, going back to sketching on a paper.
"What's DSMS, and what does it have to do with Natsu?" Lucy asked, sitting down at one of the bar tables. Mira giggled.
"Dragon Slayer Mating Season, abbreviated to DSMS, is a time where Dragon Slayers go and look for their mate, also known as their soulmate! Different types of slayers have different mating seasons! For example, the iron dragon slayer's mating season happened a few weeks ago. Remember that two week 'mission' Gajeel and Levy took together?"
"No...don't tell me! That was Gajeel's mating season?!" Lucy gasped.
Mira Nodded her head. "Yep! And after Iron Dragon Season comes Fire Dragon Season!"
Lucy rested her chin In her hands. "So how long will Natsu's season last?"
Mira had handed Reedus his pen back and was now cleaning the dishes once more.
"Fire Dragon Slayers have one of the worst seasons as, it can last anywhere from 2-6 months."
"Really? I feel kinda bad for him. Where do you think he went?" Lucy asked.
"He probably went to his other house. Master Makarov made sure the guild had a house for the dragon slayers during their season. Natsu made all the plans for his home, each slayer gets their own house." Mira finished the dishes and started putting them away.
"Why is Fire Dragon Season in Winter?" Lucy wondered outloud.
"Nobody knows, Its just a weird thing. Maybe its to help court the Mate, because its cold outside and they are warm?" The she-devil answered.
Lucy nodded, then stood up and walked over to the requests board, picking out a flyer. She smiled and handed the request to Mira. "I Would like to take this job please Mira!" The reward was big enough to cover her rent for the next few months. The sliver head  raised her eyebrows.
"All by yourself? Are you sure? 
It's a hard mission!"
"Yep! I can do this, all I have to do is beat up some robbers and claim the reward! Easy!" Lucy beamed. "And its enough to pay my rent for months and I'll have left over money!" The blonde squealed.
Mira Nodded and stamped the flyer with the official Fairy Tail crest. Lucy thanked her and walked out the door towards the train station, heading to the location of the job.
