yo yall. so i've seen the theory that Dipper is trans and i'm in love with the idea since i'm trans and love lgbtqia+ characters. i decided to do a short oneshot where Dipper and the reader come out to each other as trans. btw the setting is Wendy's spot on the roof in the show but in this it's the reader's spot. enjoy 🤗

Title: Handsome

Fandom: Gravity Falls

Character: Dipper Pines

It was around sunset and you convinced your boyfriend, Dipper to come to your spot on the roof of the Mystery Shack. You'd found a way to get to the spot through a hatch. You carried some snacks and drinks up in a backpack, leading Dipper to the spot.

You sat down on the side of the roof, after helping Dipper through the latch. Dipper sat down next to you and you unzipped the backpack as he looked around, admiring the view.

"Wow, this is pretty cool," Dipper said.

"I know, right?" You said. "I come here when I need time to myself."

You and Dipper talked for a while, eating snacks and drinking soda. At some point, you'd both finished eating and drinking. Dipper was laying next to you, on your right arm. You had your arm wrapped around him, so you two were lightly pressed together.

"Uh... (Y/n)?" Dipper asked.

"Mhmm?" You responded.

"Uh... There's something I've been wanting to, uh... Tell you..." Dipper said nervously.

"Okay. Go ahead whenever you're ready," you replied, acknowledging that it would take him a moment to get it out.

Dipper took a deep breath.

"Well... I'm, um..." Dipper struggled out.

"You can tell me, Dip. You can tell me anything," you reassured him.

He took another breath.

"I'm trans," he mumbled. "I-I used to be a girl."

You took a moment to think. You supposed it made sense with how concerned he was with people considering him masculine enough. Dipper seemed afraid of the silence, so you spoke up.

"Me, too," you said.

This took Dipper by surprise. This definitely wasn't the response he was expecting. He looked up at you.

"Really?" Dipper asked.

"Mhmm," you replied, kissing his forehead gently. "I wanted to tell you, but I was... scared."

"I get it," Dipper said.

You turned to face Dipper and wrapped your left arm around him, engulfing him in a hug. You rubbed the back of his head gently, understanding how difficult that had been for him.

"I love you, Dip," you said. "I don't care what you were born as, okay? I love you no matter what."

"Th-Thank you. I love you no matter what, too," Dipper said, looking up at you softly.

"Thanks for trusting and telling me. You're really brave," you said.

Dipper nodded. You could tell he was still shaken up from his previous anxiety. You pulled away from the hug a bit to rest your hand on his cheek gently, kissing his forehead lightly. This seemed to help him to calm down a bit.

"I know it's hard, always worrying if you're being too feminine. I've seen you struggle with it, I just didn't know it was like this," you said. "But, you're perfect. You're allowed to have feminine qualities and still be a boy."

Dipper nodded, looking down.

"I struggle with it, too. It's like, you can accept other people, but not yourself. You can see nothing wrong with a trans person, but then you look at yourself and start judging," you said.

"Yeah, that's right," Dipper said.

"I don't know if it helps, but if it does, I just want you to know that you're valid and not fake, okay?" You told him.

Dipper nodded, looking up at you as you spoke.

"You're perfect just the way you are. You don't need to push yourself to be more masculine because you feel like you need to fit a stupid stereotype," you said.

"I needed to hear that," Dipper said. "Thank you."

"Of course," you said. "And by the way, you're really handsome, Dip."

Your trans heart knew that a masculine compliment would make him happy. And it did. Dipper smiled. His anxiety was relieved.

"Thanks. You're really handsome, too," Dipper said, warming your heart.

You smiled and kissed Dipper gently. It didn't last too long, only about 8 seconds. Once you pulled away, you flipped over to the position you'd been in previously, pulling Dipper tight to your side, giving him a gentle kiss on his temple.

You and Dipper hung out for a while longer, talking about random things and looking at the stars (oR sHouLd i sAy FiSh [Luca reference i'm sorry]). You were content, knowing that he knew your secret and that he trusted you enough to tell you his.

el end.
