The Lines Were Gone (Joe x reader X Cherry)

Challenge

"So what are we betting, old friend?" He asked. You took a second to think. "I think we should bet people."

"No way in hell." You said.

"Aww, you're no fun Atomic." He whined. "Fine, then whoever wins gets to ask the other to spill any secret of their choice."

Your eyes spiralled with wonder as you imagined what you could do with that.

Without thinking you accepted. Joe and cherry ran out and started to whisper things to you, and Joe put one of the flowers from last night behind your ear.

The timer started and you watched Adam. He was ready, he wasn't gonna mock you this time. You sighed and as the timer went off you sped down the hill. You were at a faster speed than him, taking the corners was rough. Rail slides were never your forte, but you did them well enough to stay far enough ahead of Adam. You were painfully aware of where Adam was on the track. It started to concern you when he made no efforts to get closer, to make you panic.

You decided you'd do the one thing you new he couldn't do that you could, and you kicked the ground pushing yourself to go faster even though you were on the downhill, perks of having been a ballerina when you were little, very good at one footed balance.

You were going so fast that you were sure you couldn't nail the rail slide, you'd fall. You bit your lip peeking back at Adam, but he wasn't there. You looked next to you and you sighed.

"Aww, I don't want this race to end so soon, do you?" He asked. He made the tight turn with you hanging mostly off the side of a steep hill. You weren't gonna entertain his fear factor shit. You instead swung him around to the other side, dipping him while you skated. "Damn, that's steep, how did you not flinch?"

"If I flinched I would have- FELL!" you said pretending to let him go for a second.

"You're a bitch." He said angry.

"Mm, and you abandoned us, seems fair enough." You laughed pushing yourself further ahead to nail the rail slide. He sped ahead of you and went to do love hug against you. You gulped and didn't flinch. You held your hands out so that you'd shove him back downhill, and not take much force. He noticed this and as soon as your board got close enough to where you couldn't stop, he tipped his board back up. The nose of your board hit the belly of his. You went flying, you crashed into the ground mostly on your hands and your left knee. You felt the road claw off the skin on your leg. You got up shakily and grabbed your board you got back on it despite your fucked knee and you kept going, taking advantage of the fact that Adam thought you were still down. You made it down to the metal part when you saw a very angry and fast Adam coming down. You clenched your teeth and kicked with your scraped leg, going over the stairs and landing right on the finish line.

"Adam is the winner once again!" The judge shouted. You blinked for a second and then stood up.

"But I crossed first?" You blinked to Adam.

"Broken bones means disqualification." He laughed. "So you owe me a truth!"

"....These rules are fucked, if I can still skate I can still win." You rolled your eyes standing up.

"I think I'll ask it now, if you don't mind." Adam said.

"Sure, what the fuck ever." You sighed.
