You found yourself in an awkward situation, langa had challenged you to a race.
"Snow bird, I'd rather not." You laughed. "I'm not big on races normally, I only ever race Cherry and Joe for pitiful fights we have, what could you have to offer?"
"I can give you my race with Adam?" He said. You paused and turned.
"I don't want that." You shook your head. "I don't need to have anything to do with him."
"Than what about a new board?" Reki offered.
"...." You blinked looking down at your board. "Custom designed right? You can do anything I request?"
"Anything you can pay for?" Reki grinned.
"...."
"Skate!!" The crowd started cheering, you even saw Joe had an amused look. You rolled your eyes and put your fist out.
"You have yourself a deal, snowbird, if I lose, than I'll pay up the same amount of money my board would cost, deal?" You asked.
"That's unnecessary, if you lose, you lose, you don't need to pay me." Langa shrugged. "See you tomorrow."
"How did you get yourself caught up in that mess?" Cherry asked.
"I won't lose." You said. "I've been practicing on the nights that there aren't races, people come to watch, shadow told me I've improved greatly too, not enough to beat Adam and his petty tricks, but enough to beat anyone else if I really tried."
"Well it's easy for you to beat us." Joe laughed. "It's the same with the majority of the other male members who aren't fruity of course."
"Joe's not incorrect about that, langa however, is fruity." Cherry laughed.
"Coming from the guy who goes by cherry." You giggled.
"I never said I wasn't a bit fruity too!" Cherry laughed as you got in the car.
You and Joe had made up a couple days prior, the three of you were happily in somewhat of a poly relationship. More like the two guys shared you. Since they actually share surprisingly well, but it was obvious that the two of them got along too well for just friends.

"You're really going up against langa tonight?" Miya asked as you were in the car with cherry and Joe.
"Yes." You said. "I've actually been thinking of a reason to help teach langa more advanced moves... Now that reki is.."
"Incapable, you can say it, we all know." Cherry said. "As upsetting as it is to him and probably langa too."
You sat in silence until you got there. You pulled the board out and before you got up where people could see you cherry gave you a quick kiss.
"Rude, I was gonna do that first." Joe mumbled quickly kissing your forehead. "I'm not worried, Langa won't hurt her, Adam goes out of his way to hurt people."
"Yeah, our snow bird would never hurt someone purposefully, but I have no doubt that Adam has eyes everywhere." Cherry sighed.
"I'll be fine, see you guys at the finish line." You laughed getting on the line.
"You ready?" Langa grinned.
"You know it." You laughed slapping his hand before getting ready. You watched him take off before you threw your board chasing after him.
You wouldn't lose this match up. You had studied the course, the tree growth, how to use and or avoid the trees to take faster short cuts, how to preform the risky moves Adam does. This is what you had been doing for the past month.
The first one came up at the super sharp turn. No one like Joe or shadow could take this route, they wouldn't fit through the trees, Adam probably wouldn't either. You didn't slow down at the up coming turn, instead you jumped, sliding between two trees and landing on the other side of the loop before langa was even out of his turn. You kicked off again to get more speed. You centered your mass to the front of your board, with just enough at the back of the board. You saw the next turn and refused to slow. You flipped the board grabbing it and sliding it with your hands instead of feet, managing to get back on your board before Langa got into the turn. You took the ramp joe usually uses to kick off of in serious matches, but instead of kicking you used the center of your board to slide along the wall before flipping back onto the course.
You were approaching the finish line and Langa was starting to look worried. You took the last short cut you learned. It was up on the hanging pipes, yet another thing more heavy weight lifters and people wouldn't be able to do. You crossed the finish line with another five seconds.
"I couldn't catch up no matter what I did, holy shit that was good." Langa laughed. "A new board as promised."
"When did you have the time to learn all that?" Joe asked. "We've been on dates all month?! When did you learn that?!"
Joe looked so confused. "She was studying a map she drew out of the race track, and she's been practicing her skating techniques subtlety in front of us, we were just too dense to actually realize that she was practicing a flip so she could slide with her legs in a safe place, or that she was practicing that wall move that you do, but with the impact slowed on the board." Cherry smiled. "Good job."
"Aw man, I thought for sure langa would win." Reki laughed awkwardly.
"How did you do that first shortcut?" Langa asked. You walked up to him and placed your hands on his back and chest.
"It wouldn't work, you have too much muscle, you wouldn't fit through those trees, reki or cherry would, don't try to do that, you'll plummet down the mountain." You shook your head.
"Lame." Langa sighed. "But I kind of expected as much."
"I assume that Joe and cherry are coming too?" Reki asked.
"What? No! I can't have them know the custom design I'm having you put in, they'll know how to target me then!" You shook your head. "They can come, but they have to sit outside while we make the board."
"Rude." Cherry stated.
"....and after we so kindly wished you luck." Joe pouted.
"I could fix up your boards after crafting hers?" Reki offered. "Tighten bolts, sand down, polish, fix cracks with resin if you want, will probably cost a few bucks but whatever."
"Those moves, they looked like they were Adam inspired." Miya said.
"Well, you're just giving cherry and Joe no credit." You huffed.
"You shouldn't imitate Adam's racing, unless you want to end up dead, dad told you that when Adam came to drag you back to this city." Miya crossed his arms. "I will tell on you."
"Snitch!" You growled. "Don't you fucking dare, or else you are out of my house, no weed and I won't teach you any skateboarding anymore!"
"If you continue to put your life at stake I can live with that." Miya blinked.
