[Uryu's POV]
We spent the rest of our time hiding on the rooftops of the seretei, suppressing our high spiritual pressures. Orihime was still struggling a little with it though, she didn't have the same self control I had, but I gave her credit. I myself could barely trace her.
I peered over to glimpse a horde of shinigami running about, thier zanpakuto hanging at thier hips. They all had a hardened expression on thier face, and it wasn't hard to think why. We were intruders in thier world.
"Gee, how many are there?" A small voice piped next to me, belonging only to one person. Orihime. I pushed up my glasses once more, keeping my voice low as I spoke.
"Probably enough to overpower us in a matter of seconds. This place is quite large so my calculations conclude that perhaps 5,000 or so. Its not as big as Karakura town."
"Wow Uryu, you're really smart" she said earnestly, a smile taking shape on her cherubic features. I blanched, clearing my throat all the while hoping my embarrassment wouldn't appear on my face. Her compliments always seemed to catch me off guard.
"It's nothing but intuition." I pressed, turning to the left before leaping onto the opposing roof with her not far behind. We had to keep moving to find where Rukia was being held, and not to mention avoid detection. Confrontation wasn't an option.
[Orihime's POV]
We moved stealthily from roof to roof, all the while my heart was hurting for Rukia. She must be so scared, I thought sadly. I didn't want to see Ichigo lose someone he cared about. We all cared about Rukia, but probably no one's closer to her then Ichigo.
I sighed internally, feeling a bit down. Uryu and Chad had gotten stronger during those last ten days we spent with Mister Urahara. I didn't. I just wanted to be here for Ichigo and help take Rukia back with us. I mumbled out my sad thoughts without realizing it, stopping on a rooftop and glancing skyward.
"What can I do.." I murmured sadly, only to hear a very serious voice screaming at me. Tatsuki.
"Don't give up Orihime!" Her voice ordered, making me cheer up almost instantly.
"I won't! Thanks Tatsuki!"
"Orihime?! Are you okay what's going on are you hurt?!"
I blinked to see a very anxious looking Uryu flailing his arms wildly, breaking me from my trance.
"No no I'm okay! I'm really okay Uryu!" I assured, waving mines as well. I babbled on, watching Uryu as he looked more and more confused, then finally breaking into a semi smile. He looked so much less serious then usual, and it made me smile more. I liked it when he wasn't so wound up but his stubbornness was also admirable.
He wasn't that bad once you got used to him.
Slow but soon it'll pick up! Thanks for reading!
