╚ ╝I sat in my last period of the day. Wednesday's were always half days.
As the english teacher sent a student around to pass out work for the class I heard somebody walk in late. I didn't raise my head to acknowledge them knowing it was no one important.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw them sit in the empty desk next to mine, I turned to see who it was and there was Mehki.
I knew he had to have switched his schedule around because the past two weeks he hasn't had this class.
I looked at him a little longer taking him in, he smelled like weed and cologne when he first walked over here telling me he was high.
Even if I hadn't smelled him I would've been able to look at his face and tell.
"Stop staring at me girl," He spoke with his head down.
"It's not good to be in class high," I replied brushing off what he said.
"Who gon' do me one," He said rhetorically, lifting his head to look at me.
"The administration's office," I answered smartly.
"Mind yo business, ain't nobody tryna hear that."
"Good thing I didn't ask what you was tryna hear," I retorted with an attitude.
He mumbled something else before putting his head back down.
"Mr. Green, you will not come into my class late and sleep. Please come get a paper and do the work," The teacher called.
He lifted his head again and stared at the teacher who held his glare. After a couple more seconds he got up and grabbed a paper, he looked at me before sitting down and putting his head back down.
I felt something was wrong with him today, I wanted to ask but didn't want him to feel like I was over stepping.
Instead of asking about his mood I waited til the end of the class before grabbing my bag and heading towards the front of the building.
Wednesday's were always the days Amara didn't come so I headed straight to my car to go home.
When I got in the car I sat sideways with my door open, while I waited for the car to heat up I connected my phone to the bluetooth and scrolled through one of my playlists.
I heard someone walking towards me so I lifted my head and saw Mehki about to lean on my car.
This nigga everywhere damn, I thought to myself.
He stood in front of me looking down at me before he spoke.
"You smoke," he finally said.
I just nodded as response.
"You wanna share this blunt?"
