╚. ╝Zareli laid in her bed scrolling through instagram, secretly going through Lucian's page. It had been days and she hadn't been able to get his tall, muscular frame out of her head.
She tapped through his highlights over and over again as he didn't have any posts.
He looked good in all of them, each outfit fit his aura and what she had thought up of his personality.
Because she hadn't been able to have any real conversations with the man, she was left to her imagination and the stories she had created left her wanting more.
Knocking her out of her obsessive fantasies stood her father at the door.
"Daddy what I tell you about knocking," she said with a slight attitude.
"You can't tell me shit 'bout a place I pay bills," he stepped into the room looking at her tv.
Zee rolled her eyes at that.
"You not even watching this shit," he mumbled, referring to some documentary playing on the girl's tv, getting comfortable in his daughter's bed.
Zee eyed him suspiciously, "...Whatchu want," she had sat up slightly giving her father her full attention.
He cleared his throat, "Bug you think you ready ta meet the new lady?"
Her face immediately turned into a mug, she had barely had any of his attention to herself before he found someone to fill that hole in his life.
She was slightly bitter because it had seemed that although her father would do anything for her, his attention and thoughts were always somewhere else.
She relaxed her face and collapsed back onto her bed picking her phone up before speaking.
"If you want me to kill her," Zee mumbled with sincerity.
"You can't be like that Bug."
"I can be however I wanna be," She said no longer feeling like talking.
"Well it's gon' happen eventually. I like her, been likin' her. I want y'all to get along."
"How that work out for you last time? Left me with that two dollar hoe hopin' we would get along."
"She birthed you, you act like she was some stranger," Jeremiah said putting his hands out in front of him feeling like this was going no where.
"I don't wanna talk, fuck whatever lil' thot you got up yo' ass. Ain't nobody tryna meet em." She said calmly not caring what language she used.
Zee had so much pent up frustration from not having killed in weeks and was struggling to find a healthy outlet. She didn't want her father to be the subject of her rage so she tried to cut the conversation short.
Jeremiah sighed before sitting up from her bed, he shook his head running his hand over his smooth waves. Zee was more like her mother than he'd originally thought.
He wouldn't say it though, he knew the reaction it'd bring.
Zareli watched him walk out and close her door before she grimaced trying not to cry.
She was boiling.
Zareli knew she wasn't going to be the only woman in her father's life forever yet it still effected her. No one thought about the attention and emotional support the girl didn't get in her father's absence.
They saw someone who was old enough to take care of themselves mentally and physically.
As she started to fall asleep, the girl thought up a scenario that satisfied her mind.
If you asked she would say she pulled a dream from a file and molded it how she would've liked at the moment. Her imagination was wild as ever but it kept her sane.
The thought of something better kept her sane. She was also thinking of who her next body would be...
As much as she wanted peace the simple way, that just wasn't going to happen.
3:57 AM
Zareli laid in her spot on the bed, slowly moving her eyes around behind closed lids wondering if she was really going to wake up.
She opened her eyes, blinking once or twice, before adjusting her position and feeling around for her phone.
Instead of finding it she'd felt a body laying next to her and almost immediately jumped out of bed onto her feet, this wasn't something that happened rarely.
She'd taken to the thought that hiding or defending herself were really her only two options, running she would never make it far.
She'd learned that quickly.
The body laid out next to her turned onto it's side and spoke in a voice that Zareli wasn't sure she would forget.
"Zee man..." The lazy rasp in the man's voice was enough to make her knee's shake.
She instantly recognized it, yet it didn't calm her racing heart but made it speed up.
Lucian spoke again, this time more awake feeling uncomfortable being alone in the bed.
"Zee lay down..."
"Lucian what you doin' in my bed?" She asked ignoring the crack in her voice.
"You scared me," She said softer, creeping back towards the bed.
She was fully prepared to lay next to a man she'd might as well not know. She was sure she didn't know him but something in her screamed at her that she did. That she had forever.
" Yo' dad asked me to come look out for you." He replied curtly, ready to go back to sleep.
Zareli settled back into the bed, giving up on finding the phone, no longer wanting the distraction. Instead she reached for the remote she'd placed on her nightstand and turned on the TV.
"Is there anything you wanted to watch?" Zee asked hesitantly before looking over at the man.
She was met with silence before Lucian pulled her closer to him. He didn't hold her or touch her, but he was wrapped around her presence. Enjoying the way it lulled him back to sleep without fuss, he sighed and dozed off.
Zareli had a world of questions. Like how old was Lucian or why didn't her dad call Mehki, and why did Lucian get in her bed instead of laying in the beanbag she had that was big enough for two people?
She knew she wouldn't sleep until the next night so she went to Netflix and turned on Criminal Minds, obsessing over the person in her bed.
