When Alec woke up he went straight to the bathroom. He hadn't slept through the night and finally accepted that he wouldn't fall back asleep. When he finally got the shower to the right temperature he jumped in. The warm water immediately hit his face and cascaded down his body.

It felt good, almost like it was washing away his pain, for just a moment he had forgotten about his dad and all those hurtful words. What his dad said had actually cut him a lot deeper than he would actually like to admit, how couldn't it? It was his father, the man who sort of raised him. Even though he wasn't always there Alec had looked up to his father. He wanted to be a great shadowhunter just like his father was.

When he felt a tear trying to make its way out of his eye and down his face Alec decided to get out the shower. He was not about to cry, not again. Alec wrapped a towel around his waist and headed back towards his room. He smiled, remembering the only good part of that dinner, Magnus had asked him to move in with him.

Every morning he would wake up to those mesmerizing golden, green cat eyes. Every night he would fall asleep in the arms of the love of his life.

When Alec was in the room he made his way towards the dresser, trying to find something to wear for today. As he was rummaging through his drawer he felt a pair of strong arms wrap around him. Alec relaxed into Magnus' arms and Magnus gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Good morning my sweet." Magnus said, causing Alec to laugh.

"My sweet, really? You are getting weirder and weirder with these little nicknames." Alec said.

"You know you love them."

"I'm sure it is you that I love, not the nicknames."

Magnus smiled, he loved this, waking up to Alec. He looked into his eyes, the eyes that showed everything Alec was ever feeling. He could see several different emotions in them, love, anger, happiness. But the thing that hurt the most was the pain that he saw. He knew that Alec always tried to be brave, but he also knew that he was hurting.

Magnus walked towards the bed, bringing Alec with him. By now Alec had only put on a pair of boxers. Alec gave Magnus a confused look.

"What is it?" he asked.

Magnus sighed, "I know that you don't want to, but we have to talk about what happened. You can tell me that you are perfectly fine all you want, but I know you Alexander, so please, talk to me." Alec stared at him, why was Magnus doing this? Why did he want him to talk about his feelings? Alec had always been used to keeping everything inside, not showing any emotion. But he could see the look of determination on his warlock's face, and he knew that Magnus wouldn't drop this anytime soon.

He decided to tell him, "It's just that my entire life we were taught certain things. Some things were acceptable and other things weren't. Somethings were just better if they stayed hidden. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I came out in the Accords Hall. But now, my parents and basically everyone else I have ever known look at me as if I'm some kind of abomination.

And then they treat you like your some bug at the bottom of their shoe, and it's just not fair. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me and they treat you like dirt. They're supposed to love me for me and yet, they hate me. Sometimes it just hurts to know that they are ashamed of me.

And I didn't want to tell you because my family problems are nothing compared to what you went through, and I'm a little scared that you're going to realize that you could do better than me one day and leave me." By the end Alec was in tears and Magnus wasn't far behind.

Magnus hated this. He hated how Alec's parents could make him feel, and he hated that all he could was ease the pain. He wanted to just take it all away. And he hated the fact that Alec couldn't see himself from his point of view. If he could he wouldn't feel the way that he does. He took Alec in his arms and wiped away his tears.

"I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Don't ever think that I don't want to hear about your problems, your burdens are also mine, never forget that. And there hasn't been and will never be anyone better than you. No one could compare to you and no one has ever loved anyone as much as I love you. I couldn't live without you Alexander."

He planted a kiss on Alec's forehead. Alec just sat there, being comforted by Magnus, for a while. He slowly began to calm down. They just sat there, in silence, for what could have been hours.

Their moment was interrupted by the doorbell. Magnus got up to answer it, but when he opened up the door the last thing he expected was to see Robert Lightwood.
