Her mother died when she was young in the hands of her felow villagers for loving a demon, she didnt even get to give her newborn daughter a name before her death. Her father, the fox demon with the number 11 craved into his eyeball, took her in as a slave and never named her, in a desperate attempt to hide her from Muzan.
He failed miserably, of course, and in order to save his daughter, he pretended to attack Obanai. The young demon slayer was only nineteen then and had just become a pillar, but he took the child along, thinking he could give her shelter. He couldnt have been more wrong
(Hes 21 originally u lets just say hes way older in the future for the sake of the plot)
"You mean to tell me you deafetead one of the twelve moon demons with just one slash despite only becoming a pillar a month ago?" Mitsuri smiled, making Obanai blush a bit under his bandages. He noded, gesturing for a child that hadnt even reached ten years old to walk inside
"Now I have to take care of this, I havent gone in a mission for months" he grunted, despite just returning from his own
"Oh what a cute little kid, she seems so sweet--" Mitsuri laughed and bent down to to engulf the kid in a hug, only to be pushed back by Obanai
"Dont touch it, its weird. At first I thought I would have to take care of it and feed it but it caught some rabbits with ease every single day and even my snake was trying to get as far away from it as possible. There is something off with it, plus I found it with the demon"
"Well you would have sensed it if she was a demon and you should be thankful she helped you out. Whats your name little one?" she ignored his warnings and grabbed the kid's hand, making i come closer and pulled it into a hug, making her hood fall
As it fell, the girl's eyes widened in fear and her fox ears perked up. Her tail also rose, and a startled little fox cub fell from her sleeve, standing on her feet protectivly as the girl rushed and hid it back up her sleeve
"I told you there was something wrong"
"We... should tell master. This doesnt make sense, we would have known if she was a demon, but she clearly isnt human"
The small girl looked around nervously as she glared at the pink haired girl holding her in her lap, trying to hold back purrs of pleasure from the affection and head pats she was recieving. Some people looked at her with disgust, she was used to that by now, and some people looked at her with the intent to pet her.
But her attention was drawn to somebody else; The guy that brought her here, the oe with the snake would spare her a few emotionless glances, that made him seem as if he didnt care about her. But she had also seen him glaring at anyone who dared talk bad about her; She couldnt figure him out, and that only peaked her interest further.
9 years later...
"Obanai, im going to the final tournament. Please feed Kiwi, she will be fine with Kaburamaru's rats" I yelled, struggling to wear my boots and falling flat on my face right in front of him legs
"I cant believe someone like you is part fox. Here, Mitsuri insisted you get this and you dont die" he scoffed, throwing a haori on my face
"Mitsuri? Really?" I smiled as I slipped the bright red haori with white fox head shapes on each shoulder on and faced him
"What are you smiling for now?"
"Mitsuri sent me a sword accessory thought and said good luck before she left for her mission months ago" I scoffed, watching as he pretended not to hear me and walked away with a final look
"Ah Kiwi, hes been such a big assholes lately, I think he realise I have made him go soft" I szmiled as I pet her one final time before walking off, following the really faint smell of Wisteria that came from miles away, but noticed her following me
"Look little guy, I know we are always together and work better like that but I cant take you with this time. We will have plently of missions together once I get this thing over with"
"But what if you turn into a fox and cant control it?" he whimpered, jumping on my shoulder
"I know how to control myself, you are just making excuses up now. Go back" I rolled my eyes and harshly pushed him off, speeding up so he would lose me
But it seemed like, despite my command, he followed me almost al the way there. I heard a bush shaking near by and jumped there, launching on what I believed to be a lttle fox, but saw a boar head under me instead
"Why are you stalking me?" I scoffed, getting off the guy as he jolted up and tried to punch me
I easily dodged his attack and grabbed his fist, pulling him forward before moving out of the way. I stuck out my foot, laughing a little as he fell, face- well, hide first, into the mud and got up looking like he wanted to murder me
"Whats up?" I smiled, crossing my arms as I looked him up and down before pointing to my face with my thumb "You got a little something here" I laughed as air gushed out of the boar's nostrils and tick macks appeared on him
"You fight me right now batard!" he yelled, trying to grab my collar
I leaped away and onto a tree branch, holding back my laughter as he screamed at me to 'get down before he got up there'. I would love to mess with him further, but if I delay for another second they will start without me, and I really wouldn't want Obanai to nag me for losing it
"CANT YOU HEAR ME?!" he yelled, hitting the tree with his head and trying to shake it
"Survive the test and if we meet again, maybe I will give you a good fight"
"Who do you think you are talking to the King of the Mountains like that?! Every beast respects me, except from all the horrible foxes saying they have a reall master... but that doesnt matter!"
"Take it as a challenge, King of Pigs. See ya" I laughed and pretended to shoot him with one of my finger guns before leaping away from tree to tree and making it into a place full of Wisteria, where two girls, one with black and the other with white hair explained the final exam and sent us into the forest
-It will get better, most of this was just prologue
