(The last chapter hurt, poor Kyogai got his writting stepped all over. My mom once made a coffee stain in the pages and I wouldnt talk to her for a week, if someone stepped on it I would do much worse than become a demon)
We started falling from one door on another, and I grabbed both of them and turned around so my back would hit the doors open. Zenitsu was screaming, while the kid was crying a little before we finally hit the ground and I gasped out in pain "Y/n, are you alright?!"
"I-Im fine, im good" I breathed out, feeling the wound from a rock I landed on heal and got my breathing back to normal
"Y/n, you have b-b-blood on your back!" Zenitsu yelled, as he started crying and kneeled down. But not to check on me, like a normal perosn would, but to start shaking me sround like a ragdoll
"Im fine, Zenitsu, dont worry. I saw a river around here, im gonna go check it out a bit and come back. Wait here for Tanjiro, and grab Kiwi if you see him around"
I walked to a lake and stood down, watching my reflection as I took a deep breath. I released my ears, tail and fangs, followed by some whiskers and long nails. Now dont get me wrong, my demon form looks absolutely horrifying, like every other demons', but this is my natural form.
Some characteristics of a fox, without changes on my skin or eyes, like when im using my powers. I had to drink blood or eat every once in a while, I didnt have an option but I usually just slept a whole day and then didnt have to eat for at least a month, but animal blood works too, just not that well
However, if I didnt let my ears and tail out at least for a couple of minutes every week, the spots they grow from would start burning and I will get wounds that will be getting weaker by the minute.With Tanjiro and Zenitsu by my side for two days now, I needed to let them out badly. But I guess they arent that bad after all, I like these two crackheads-
"SHITTY WOMAN, YOU LEFT ME OUT HERE FOR SO LONG" Kiwi screamed as he attacked me, but I grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and lifted him up near my face
"You little shit, think I enjoyed it? It was a living hell in there" I barked back, poking his forehead
"I missed you" he cried
"I MISSED YOU TOO" I cried back, pulling him in a hug and squeezing the hell out of him
"I caught a bunch of rabbits for you" he laughed, literally carrying ten dead rabbits and placing them infront of me
"You know what? We could easily eat that alone but lets make some for those useless idiots too" I shrugged as I started skinning the rabbits while Kiwi grabed sticks for a small fire and so we could skewer the meat later
After a while I walked back, but I wished I didnt. The three kids, Zenitsu and Tanjiro were praying over some graves. And of course, the boar guy was banging his head on a tree, everything made perfect sense "What the fuck?"
"Y/n, what took you so long?"
"I made you food" I shrugged, giving Zenitsu five skewers. The other five ones were suppossed to be for me and Kiwi, but the boar guy grabbed two and gobbled them down right away, also swallowing a part of the stick
"Im gonna fucking kill you, damned pig!" I yelled, also wolfing down two sticks and shoving the last one in Kiwi's mouth before lunging at him
"Y/n no, I dont want you to die. You are too pretty, we havent gotten married yet!" Zenitsu yelled, holding me back as I approached the oar slowly despite him being hooked on my leg
"Im gonna kill him, let me g- What happened to you?!" I growled, cupping his face and checking out for any injuries. I squinted my eyes at Tanjiro, tapping his nose as he flinched "What happened? If the demons touched your face you would be dead" I sighed, rubing my temples while they just stayed silent
"WHO FUCKING HIT YOU?!" I yelled, feeling my eyes change t the sudfden burst of anger. I blinked a bit and they went away, before taking a deep breath and going to ask again
"Inosuke did it!" Zenitsu was the first to break, pointing at the guy with the boar head on, who was runnng after Kiwi for the food in his mouth
"I hate foxes like you, give the food back at the King of the Mountain you shitty creature"
"Thats my fox, and its superior to a pig like you"
"You aid you would fight me if you saw me again, fight me!"
"No way, im beat. I will sleep and beat you up tomorrow when im bored. Ugh Zenitsu, hurry up, I want Tanjiro to carry me too" I whined, trying to ignoire the loud pig shouting my ear off
"FIGHT ME RIGHT NOW, WOMAN AND YOU, GONPACHIRO! DONT BE A COWARD NOW THAT YOU SAW MY GREATNESS" he yelled, and I could practically see a light bulb shining over my head the moment he said that.
"Well Tanjiro can carry Zenitsu and the demon. You have to carry someone too to prove you are a worthy oponent"
"A tree then!"
"No, it has to be a person. Dont worry, I will offer up so you can prove you are as strong as him" I smiled as he laughed and literally picked me up and made me sit on his shoulders like I weighted nothing
"Are you trying to tame a barbian?" Kiwi snickered
"No, but I might. I mean, I tamed you when I was little, so it shouldnt be too much of a challenge. But all I wanted was a free ride for now"
"STOP MAKING THOSE FOX NOISES"
"Shut up, im having a conversation here!" I yelled back, hitting his head a few times
"You smell a little weird, y/n" Tanjiro yawned, making m turn to look at him
"Weird how?"
"You have a fox as a pet, of cpurse you are weird. Keeping those little devils around-"
"Well, it just seems like you have four moods, all the time. You are always tired, bored, hungry and usually angry"
"Isnt that everyone tho? Im a bottomless pit, there isnt a time where im not hungry"
"Now that you mention it, you make those cute noises when you sleep too. Its really cute, they are like small growls and whimpers"
"See? That devil is affecting you, woman. Dont you dare let it kill you before we fight"
"Stop calling me woman, and Kiwi is not a devil. Hes the best boy ever" I yawned again, letting myself fall asleep
