The busy chatter of the barely awake students trudging their feet passed the University gates were always amusing to one Wei Wuxian. He was dressed in black skinny jeans with a purple bandana looping itself around his belt loops and hanging to the side, with his top half covered in a black t-shirt and finished off with a jean jacket of the same colour. Despite being in a family full of people who did what they did, he for one was always in love with the idea of studying, the few years he spent in the University of Yiling were the days he would describe as the best part of his painful seven years,

Now though, things had changed drastically, one year later, while he was still a university student, now he was the Yiling Patriarch, most of the student body as well as the professors only saw him as the friendly and kind young man who wouldn't think twice before helping someone unless he was provoked.

Back in Yiling, he was known as the quiet kid who never spoke, but now, he was known as the younger brother of the fearsome leader of the Yunmeng Jiang, brother in law to the sinister yet the man with a barest of a heart, Lan Xichen and most of all, he was known as the fiancé to the dreaded Hanguang-Jun, which all accumulated into many people gladly staying out of the younger's way.

Back in Yiling, he was always alone and he used to prefer it that way, but now, he was always under the careful eye of the many stealthy guards and his parents' vicious little underlings who never showed themselves, but he knew that his family had them watching him everytime he stepped out of the mansion.

"A-Xian!"

A loud screech of his name had him almost tumbling over his own foot as he turned around and to greet the owner of the voice that he knew oh so well since his childhood,

As soon as he turned he came face to face with his two best friends, Nie Huaisang and Wen Ning, who were both fourth year students while he was a mournful second year.

"Ge.. any louder you're going to make my ears bleed"

Nie Huaisang chuckled good heartedly as the two older boys draped themselves on either side of him, slowly making their way towards his first class of the day. The trio came to a stop infront of the classroom where the older two proceeded to turn him around to face them as they stared at him with firm eyes,

"A-Ning and I are heading off early today and the drivers are already informed to pick you up. Do not and I mean it this time A-Ying, Do not wander off on your own. They know where to pick you up so wait for them do you understand? And call one of us or your brother if you feel like something is wrong"
