Days. It's been days since Amara was brought to the house in Australia. Her mind was still processing the information about her father and Mason. Why didn't he tell her about this?
She didn't know what to do. Does she escape? If she does why would she go back? Her father didn't want her and her friends left her.
She groaned into her hands as she sat on the chair that was on the patio, a small fire pit burning in front of her.
Should I betray my home? Everything I worked for to get back at my father?
No
She couldn't betray her mafia. She'll just have to find a way to get it back somehow. But how?
She groaned again, throwing her head back against the pillow on the chair. Her life has been flipped upside down and here she is, cuddling up in a blanket watching a fire.
What have I become?
"Amara."
I need a plan. Come on Amara think.
"Amara."
Do I kill my father? No, that would be impossible.
"Amara!" A voice yelled in front of her, making her jump out of her thoughts.
"What." She said stiffly, not meeting his eyes, her eyes trained on the fire in front of her.
"I need you to come with me, my fathers on the phone." He told her, not saying another word as he walked back into the house.
She followed him, shutting the patio door behind her and trailing behind him toward his office.
He walked behind his desk and she sat across from him, watching as he grabbed the phone off the table.
"Father." He said with no emotion, his eyes directly on her.
"She's here." He told him, putting the phone on speaker.
"Excellent. Amara, how's your stay? I hope Luca's treating you like a gentleman he is." A voice said from the other side of the phone.
"Perfect." She gritted out, both their eyes clashing together as if they are trying to kill each other with their stare.
"I have a mission for both of you." Marco said, making her look away from Luca in surprise.
"I'm sorry what?" She asked, leaning forward in her chair toward the phone.
"You heard me right. I'm putting you both on a mission that's not far from the safe house." He told her, both of them surprised by Marco's words.
"But father, she just got here. You can't simply trust her?" Luca said, questioning his fathers demands.
"That is why you're going to be there son. You'll keep a close watch on her as you both complete this mission." He said.
"The information will be sent through your phone." He told them.
"Remember, this is a business deal, there will be no fighting or socializing, just stay away from each other as much as possible. Don't let me down." He said before hanging up the phone.
Luca put his head in his hands, and Amara leaned back in her chair.
"He can't be serious." He said, taking his hands away from his face.
"I swear if you try anything I will kill you." He hissed out, getting up from his chair.
"And what if I kill you first?" She said, getting up from her chair also and walking towards him.
"Hm? What will you do about it then, Luca?" She reached him, her eyes looking up to him.
It took a millisecond for him to slam her against the wall, his hands on either side of her head.
She smiled at him, watching as anger burned through his eyes.
"Don't fucking test me, Amara." His face was so close to hers now, she could see the golden specks in his green eyes, how soft his pink lips looked.
"I'll do what I want." She spat out, feeling his hands move toward hers and pinning them against the wall.
"I'll kill you right here, then you won't be able to ruin this mission." He said harshly, watching as her lips slightly parted.
"Fuck," He muttered, his eyes searching hers as she looked at him, his grip on her hands getting tighter.
The sound of a phone ding made him pull away from her, taking the phone from the desk.
"We leave tonight." He told her, putting the phone in his pocket.
"Welcome to the Italian mafia."
