"Amara." Igor said, his attention on the phone in front of him, a finger of his telling her to come closer.

"Yes father?" She said, trying to keep her posture straight as possible.

"Your mother is coming into town for the weekend and I want you to be here for it." He told her, typing his message onto the phone in his hands.

"Mother?" she asked, shock flickering inside her.

"Yes Amara. You know your mother, she's very high maintenance and she's going to need someone with her at all times." He finally looked up from his phone, putting it away into his pocket.

"Luckily, I'll be gone for the first half of her stay." He told her, amusement finding his way onto his features.

Her heart suddenly dropped. Her alone with her mother? It had been years since she saw Victoria. She had taken off with a man when she was fifteen. That was seven years ago.

"Where will you be going?" She asked him, following him into the kitchen where he grabbed a glass of alcohol from the cupboard.

"A base outside of Italy. I'll be going over the plans about the attack that will happen next month." She opened her mouth and he held out his hand to stop her. "And no, you cannot come. I thought I made it clear you are not to involve yourself in this mission."

"But father!" She protested. "The guns were not my fault. Luca was not supposed to be there, you know that." A blow to her face made her stop talking, making her stumble back into the chairs behind her.

"Do not disobey me you pathetic girl." He said, taking a swig from the glass. He gave one last look at her before walking out, looking behind him as he reached the door.

"Get ready for your mother." He said, before leaving her against the chairs.

"That son of a bitch!" Mason yelled, throwing his gloves on the ground as he stepped out of the ring.

Amara had a ice pack pressed to her cheek, blood spilling from her lip.

"Mason I'm fine. Please don't worry about it." She reassured him, sitting on the bench at the edge of the wall.

He sat beside her, removing the ice from her cheek. His eyes inspecting it, checking the bruise that now lay on her cheek.

"He shouldn't be touching you like this." He told her.

"You think?" She chuckled, loosing her smile as she saw Mason reply with a frown.

"Look, I'm fine. The one thing you should worry about is my mother." She said to him, putting the pack back on her face.

"Victoria?" He said confused. She nodded, her eyes trailing to where two people boxed in the ring.

"She's visiting this weekend and father wants me to take care of her." She turned back to him, "And I emphasize the take care. You know how much of a snobby bitch she is."

"Sometimes I don't know how you came from her." Mason sighed, moving his fingers through his brown hair.

"She's a disgrace of a mother." Amara replied, watching as the rest of the group walked through the doors, their toned bodies showing as they talked shirtless.

"Jesus Amara. Your father did that to you?" Jack asked, taking the seat beside her.

"You know it."

The boys looked at each other, concern on their faces as the girl in front of them joked about her abusive father.

"We need a new plan this weekend." She said to them. "I won't be able to escape while my mother is here."

"I checked with Daniels and your father won't be leaving for another month. This is our only chance to go to Italy." Alec said, leaning against the wall beside them.

She sighed, "I know. We just need a distraction."

A person dressed in a suit came walking toward them, their shoes clicking against the concrete floors.

"Ms. Volkov." They said, nodding toward her. "Your mother is here."
