chapter 20: choices

day 478

          i open my eyes to see the creature dead on the floor. i turn to my left and catch marcus staring right back at me. he turns off the radio and puts it down on the ground. i put the gun back down on the desk and i run towards marcus and hold him in a tight embrace. i wrap my arms around marcus and he rests his head on mine. feeling overwhelmed, i start to feel tears drip down my cheek. evelyn makes her way over to us and joins the hug with the baby in her arms.

          "what are we going to do now?" i ask. how are we going to reunite with regan and emmett without us being able to communicate with them? "we need to go and find them," evelyn says. "but we don't even know where they are. regan has the map that led them to where ever they were going," marcus says. i reply, "let's wait and listen to the radio, maybe they'll tell us what to do."

          a couple hours later, we are all still shaken up by the past day's events. we have all
gotten a little bit of sleep, and we are awaiting for any signs of what we should do. "we have two choices guys," evelyn starts, "we can either stay and wait for regan and emmett, or go off and look for them." and at the perfect time, we start to hear emmett's voice on the radio.

          "evelyn, y/n, and marcus, if you guys are listening, regan and i are okay. there's a creature on the island we are on. we believe that the best decision is for us to meet you guys back at homebase. regan and i will do just fine, keep this station on whenever you need to weaken those creatures," emmett says. we all sigh in relief, knowing that the two of them are okay.

and that's a wrap for part II! i will be creating my own ending for this series. sorry if this is vague/inaccurate, as i'm working off of memory because i can't rewatch the movie just yet. i think i will start a noah jupe fanfic after i finish this series! once again if you are enjoying this fanfic please vote!!
