Author's note: Surprise, surprise! I'm finally back! Things took a turn for the better for me, and I suddenly got excited to do this! Byleth's gender isn't gonna be specified here, so you can choose their gender, and they won't be referred to by name either, which means you could preeeeetty much make it a reader insert if you'd like. I had a lot of fun writing this, and I hope you all enjoyed reading it! Without further ado, let the lesson begin!

The sound of something scribbling onto parchment echoes into the now empty classroom. The sun outside was beginning to set, and yet the scribbling noises don't sound like they'll stop anytime soon. Upon closer inspection... The source came from a person sitting on a unique desk. More specifically: The professor of the class. Everyone loved the professor: They were kind, and thanks to their life as a mercenary, very skilled on the battlefield and smart. Using all of that knowledge, it was no surprise they became very good at teaching as well. Any question that a student had, the professor always seemed to have all of the answers, regardless of what it was about: Love life, weapon techniques, theories on Crests, even asking about other students or the archbishop herself, the professor somehow seemed to know it all.

"Hey! Don't you know that it's getting late already??? At least get a candle or something so you won't write in the dark, you'll damage our sight at this rate!"

A grumpy, whiny-like voice echoed in the classroom, which appeared to have made the professor lose focus on their work. The professor glances to the door and realizes that it really was getting dark.

"Sorry, Sothis. I got distracted into my work... And thinking about the students"

"Of course I know that. I've been paying attention! You've obviously begun to overwork yourself lately, never even stopping to think of yourself! You need to take a break and relax"

"Yes, I'm aware, but what if the students have any doubts? Or what if there's more work to be done?"

They stated, as they begin to gather papers from their desk. If there was one thing they're agreeing with Sothis, it's that it's getting too dark to continue working here, and therefore they'd have to go to their dorms to continue to work there.

"You're not the only professor, you know. And even if you were, there are things that cannot be taught from a professor, if not learned through experience. As for the work, it won't go anywhere, it'll be right where you left off. Rhea will understand and care for your health more than your work, you know"

The professor had just opened their mouth, about to respond to Sothis, but quickly noticed someone was standing in front of the doors to their dorms. It was Hilda, one of the students from the Golden Deer house. She seemed... More cheerful than usual. Was she... Waiting for them?

"Ah, professor! There you are, I was wondering when you would show up!"

"Hilda... It's getting late. What are you doing outside of your dorm?"

It was highly unusual for her.

"Professor. We apologize for coming to your dorms at such a late hour"

A tall, dark-skinned man calls out, and bows at the professor. That's Dedue, Dimitri's vassal and a student from the Blue Lion house. He's always been loyal to him, and is often seen with Dimitri himself. So for him to be here is odd, unless if Dimitri sent him here.

"We have a big favor to ask of you. We would like for you to accompany us"

A pale-skinned, dark-haired man bows to the professor out of respect. This was Hubert, a student from the Black Eagle house and Edelgard's loyal vassal. He's pretty much Edelgard's Dedue, but edgy-looking and is a noble.
