A/N: This chapter contains smut ✌🏼(For those of you who don't like to read it, the chapter will end with the smut so you can just skip ahead, you won't miss anything from the plot)

She got to stay. She got to freaking stay.

Tony had called her that afternoon, saying that although he was happy to learn they were doing alright over there, the higher-ups were annoyed that it was taking this long.

She had made up some bullshit excuse about how the weather was slowing them down, how they were working on getting Banner back and there was still some way to go.

It had been five days and there had been no calls or messages telling her to come back. She got to stay.

Although, her extended stay didn't solve everything. She was happy to be around her new friends and the Asgardians more and she had gotten Helga's muffins, yes they were delicious, but her staying also meant that she was still around Loki.

He had looked like he wanted to approach her and talk but she managed to avoid it so far. Every time, she had made up some excuse or involved someone so that the focus of the conversation couldn't come up.

She had made herself busy with lessons or helping the construction so that they wouldn't have the time to practice magic, in which they'd be alone.

She had even dragged Korg to the only lesson they did in the past days. He had always talked about how cool magic looked like and she thought it would be a good excuse.

Right now, they were at the town hall, eating dinner. Val was next to her, Hulk and Heimdall sitting across from them.

"I swear, I am going to burn down everything if I have to take out one more splinter," Val groaned. She was currently looking over her palm, trying to find the splinter.

"I hate splinters," Hulk said.

"Well, maybe if you wore some gloves or didn't go at it like your life depended on it, you wouldn't get splinters," Layla said.

Val gave her a glare. "Maybe instead of being a smart-mouth, you can use your magic to get it off, Wilson,"

"They hurt," Hulk continued.

"I don't know how to do that," she chuckled.

"Of course," Val groaned again, "What good are your powers then?"

"Uhm, you officially declared you liked, nay, loved them. You can't take it back,"

"I am starting to like you less and less now,"

She had started laughing at that when Korg and Loki sat down. She stopped abruptly and averted her gaze away from him.

"What were you talking about?" Korg asked.

"I have a splinter and Wilson's tricks are useless at helping it," Val replied.

She could feel Loki's eyes on her. "Well, you could always pull it off with your magic," Loki said to her.

"Ha! Look at that," Val muttered.

"Oh, I haven't thought about it," she murmured, barely looking at him.

Hulk grunted. "Layla weird,"

Oh, great, so even Hulk was aware of it.

"I'm always weird," she replied to him.

Against her best judgment, her eyes drifted off to Loki again. He had his elbow on the table, hand under his chin and he was looking at her. She was burning under his gaze.
