Tw: mentions of death
I wake up to the soft clicking of a computer. As I'm waking up I realize that I fell asleep on Peter's shoulder. I hope he doesn't mind.
"Morning MJ." Peter's sleepy voice interrupts my thoughts.
"Morning? What time is it?" I don't usually sleep all the way through the night. Plus I fell asleep pretty early.
"Well it's almost morning." Peter sounds exhausted... I wonder if he got any sleep.
"Oh... when did you get up?" I look over at him and he looks like he's been crying.
"Hmm I don't think I really fell asleep..." He didn't sleep at all? I wonder if he's okay...
"It's not cause I was sleeping on your shoulder right?" I hope it's not my fault he didn't sleep last night... That would suck.
"What? No of course not. I just... I couldn't sleep." Oh. I wonder why he didn't sleep then... Do you think he was up all night crying? No that's stupid. He's Peter Benjamin Parker, he doesn't waste all night crying. Plus, I would've heard if he was crying. I look over at Peter's glowing computer screen, he's watching some movie about Tony Stark. Or, it looks like he's about to, but he hasn't pressed play.
"You used to work with him right?" Peter mentioned being Mr. Stark's intern about a million times. Tony died right after the blip. It was only a few months ago, maybe that's why he's upset...
"What?" Peter looks at his computer. He quickly closes out of the movie and takes a deep breath. Maybe they were actually close. I mean if Peter is actually Spiderman, it's possible that they were friends or something...
"You okay Peter?" He's staring off into the distance now. It seems almost like he's trying to remember something. Or maybe he's trying to forget. "Peter, are you okay? What are you thinking about? Is it about Tony Stark, cause if you wanna talk about it, I'm here. Or is it about your parents? Or did something else happen? Peter, what's going on?"
Remember how I said that everything was happy? Even if it was just for a moment, everything was happy? Yea. This is when that moment ended.
