Chapter 31: Rescue attempt (1).

  Cameron's P.O.V

  "So, as we know, the king has blocked off every entry way to the castle. There's no way getting in or out unless you're either a guard or you work there." Fredrick says as you and Arthur quietly listen. "So... What do we do?" You question and Fredrick thinks. "Well, we could disguise ourselves as guards..." "Why don't two of us disguise as guards and the other turns themselves in so the guards in disguise can bring one of us in?" Arthur speaks up and Fredrick nods. "I love that idea. Only problem we have now, is... How are we going to get the guard's armor to disguise in?" "Dragon riding practice!" You bring up. "Perfect! Look at you guys! So smart." Fredrick folds his arms and smiles at you causing you to blush a tiny bit and look away. "U-um, thank you..."

  "Ya know, ever since you found out Fredrick was bisexual you've been acting weird." Arthur says out of the blue catching you off guard. "How's that?" You question as you both sneak into the dragon's resting area of the training ground seeing it had no guards. Arthur shrugs, "Well, you get shy when he gives you attention. Also, sometimes you'll stare at him too..." "I-I stare because he's so cool and wise with his words!" You blush a little and frown at Arthur. "Sure." Arthur rolls his eyes, not really caring for your lousy excuse.

  "Look, he's cool and all, but don't get the wrong idea." You look at one of the water dragons that were sleeping. "I like Y/n, remember?" "Yeah, my girlfriend." Arthur pokes your head and you pout. "Yeah..." You hide a sad frown and go over to the dragon, waking her up. "Janet..." You whisper and the dragon looks up at you, tilting her head. 

  You smile, "Hey, old girl. Can you do me a favor?" You question and the dragon nods. "Ok, well, I need you to get me two guard suits. Can you do that for me?" Janet gets up and stretches then nods her head, leaving.

  "Alright, now we wait." You grab Arthur's hand and hide somewhere. "Wow, you know all these dragons, huh?" "Yeah. Janet is the water dragon Y/n picked up when I first brought her to my job..." "Really??" Arthur's eyes widen and you sadly look at him. "That's the day it all went downhill." "You know, I never heard how you and Y/n met." Arthur says and you sigh, sitting down. "It wasn't anything special. She looked lost so I went over and tried to have a simple conversation with her. She turned the conversation down every time but I was determined to get close to her..."

   "How did you fall for her?" You keep quiet, thinking. "I... I don't know." You frown slightly, looking down. "Maybe you didn't fall for her." Arthur sits next to you. "Maybe you see her as something else. A little sister, maybe?" "Why would you say that?" You look at Arthur and he sighs, "Cameron, the way you act now is different than how you acted with Y/n, like maybe you thought you were in love but weren't. When you look at Fred-" "Dammit, enough with that!" You clench your fists and yell. "I don't love your best friend, Arthur! Enough!" "Shh, ok, ok...!" Arthur frowns and you angrily fold your arms, looking away.

  A few minutes later, Janet comes back but guards were with her and they tie her up. "Dammit, guess she couldn't do it... Time for plan B, huh...?" You whisper to Arthur and he nods. "But what..? Three guards came in, but we can only take out two without anyone alerting the other guards nearby..." "Hm..." You think. "Maybe one of us can knock down two...?" "Pfft, only Fredrick could do that. He's the big one, not us." "True, true..." You sigh. "Well, this sucks... We have to do something...! We need those suits...!" You move a little to get a better look at the guards and something nearby you falls, creating a noise. 

  Arthur frowns at you. "Really?" "S-sorry...!" You panic when the guards get suspicious and start walking over. "Whelp, guess we're gonna  have to do it, huh?" Arthur frowns and you nod. "3.." Arthur glances at you, seeing you get ready to jump out. "2..." The guards get closer to see the object that had fallen suspiciously. "3!"

  You both jump out of your hiding place and Arthur tackles the guy to the right, knocking him out. You tackle the guy to the left but as you went to knock him out, he grabbed you and threw you off. "Dammit, Cam!" Arthur tries to grab the guard but he was quicker and grabbed Arthur's arm, throwing him into a nearby wall.

  "No..! We can't get caught like this!!" You hurry back up and tackle the guy again but he didn't lose balance. The guard chuckles, knowing he had the upper hand with his strength as he grabbed you by your hair and pulled you off of him. "I won't let you keep her!!" You yell, trying to punch him but you were just embarrassing yourself at this point.

  You start to cry as the guard pulls out a dagger. "Don't worry, this'll be quick." He says and you tightly close your eyes only for nothing to happen.

  The hand that was holding your hair lets go and you open your eyes. "W-what...?" You wipe away your tears and look at the guard who was on the floor in a puddle of blood along with the third guard who was next to him. You look at your savior and gasp. "You guys take too long for one suit." Fredrick smirks and drops the bloody sword, lifting up his helmet from the armor he took from someone else. "Seriously." "I-I thought we were going to get both suits..." You mumble and he shrugs. "I know, but something told me you two would need help." Fredrick goes over to Arthur and helps him up. "Besides, you and I are gonna be the guards, Cameron." He looks at you. "So I thought I'd do my part." He says and takes the unconscious guard's armor off. "It's a good thing Arthur knocked the other guy out, heh..."

  "You'd be a great guard, Fred." You say as you take the armor and put it on, and he looks at you. "Oh? Who would I be protecting?" "Well the princess, of course~" Arthur shoves you slightly in Fredrick's direction and you both frown at him. "What, just joking." He shrugs but it was obvious he wasn't.

  Fredrick rolls his eyes and unties Janet. "We'll be using this dragon to get in the castle's walls since they will be close." He hops on Janet. "Right." You nod and get on behind him. He looks at you. "Are you sure holding onto the dragon back there will keep you from falling off?" "Well, I'm not wrapping my arms around you, if that's what you want..." You grumble and Fredrick sighs. "Cameron, don't let Arthur's words get into your head. We're friends, ok? That's it. So, can you please get more secure behind me?"

  You pout and wrap your arms around him, blushing. "This is embarrassing..." You grumble. "Oh, toughen up. You gotta do what you gotta do." Arthur says and gets on but then Fredrick takes him back off. "Huh?" Arthur frowns. "Fredrick, I kind of have to go too, you know." "Yeah, in the dragon's claws. You're kinda the guy we're bringing in." "Dammit..." Arthur frowns and Fredrick chuckles. "Keep messing with Cam and I, it'll get worse." "Oh shut it." Arthur grumbles.

  "Alright, you ready?" Fredrick looks at the dragon, putting down the helmet again. "Her name's Janet..." You whisper to Fredrick and he gasps. "Ooh. Well, you ready, Janet?" He corrects himself and she nods. "Great! Let's go get our best friend back." And with that, Janet grabs Arthur and flies to the castle.
