After meeting Rosie, she showed you around the garden. The place was absolutely huge! It even had a little pond in it, which was amazing! The garden was inside glass, behind the castle. Like a greenhouse kind of thing, although you were never much of a flower person to know what these things are called... Your village doesn't really have flowers...
Once she was finished, showing you around, she smiles kindly at you. "Are you hungry, Ms. L/n?" She glances at your hand, seeing the ring. "A-ah, I mean Mrs. Mal-" "Lemme just stop you there." You lift a pointing finger up, shushing her instantly. "Call me Y/n." You smile back and she smiles more, nodding. "I will, Y/n." She giggles.
"Anyway, are you hungry?" She tilts her head a bit and you think for a bit. "Well, I did recently have lunch, but... A little snack wouldn't hurt, right?" you shrug and she gasps. "Oh, we have the best honey made! I can make biscuits and we can have it with honey, if you'd like! Oooh, I love honey biscuits!!" "Then we'll have just that!" You sit down on the green grass and she excitedly leaves the garden, entering the castle.
You sigh, relaxing. Rosie seemed quite genuine... She looked so innocent, it was hard to tell whether she was fooling you or not... Like how Amillia fooled people... Was Rosie wearing a mask, or is this her true self? It's hard to believe someone so sweet exists in this cold castle.... Then again, you do know some pretty nice people who work here, but they were never as happy as her.
Eventually, Rosie gets back with a tray holding a plate of biscuits and a fancy jar of honey with a spoon in it. She sits by you on the grass and places the tray on the grass, smiling at you. "Enjoy!"
You take a biscuit and put some honey on it, taking a bite. "Mh! Holy honey, this is good!" You gasp and she giggles. "The honey is made from within the castle! We have our own bees for our honey!" "Whoa..." You continue to eat the biscuit. 'So good!'
Rosie takes a biscuit and spreads honey on it. "So, what made you think of being with the king?" She suddenly brings up and you look at her, frowning. 'Should I tell her the truth? No... She could go against me and tell Wilfred what I say...' "He's caring." You shrug. "And has a sweet personality when you get to know him."
"Finally someone notices!" She gasps and you look at her, confused. "Wilfred is the sweetest man I know!" She smiles. "He came up to me on his own and asked if I wanted to be his royal gardener! He said I was amazing at my job! I used to work at a flower shop with my mother." "Ooh." "Mhm." She sighs and looks ahead at the flowers she grew. "My happiness comes from my plants..." Her voices gets a little low. "They're what make me smile."
'So maybe that's why she's so cheery...'
You frown, 'But wait... Wilfred did the same with you... He asked you to be his maid... Did he try coming onto Rosie too...?' "Rosie, be honest with me... Did the king ever try to.... Um..." You clear your throat as she looked at you with curiosity in her pretty green eyes. "Has he ever tried coming onto you...?"
Rosie frowns, "No, he hasn't."
You flinch, noticing the sudden cold tone in her voice. She notices your surprised expression and sighs, looking away. "I'm sorry, I... I just really care for the king. No, not like a crush." She frowns more, hugging her knees close to her. "As a friend. He's a caring man, Y/n... As long as you give him love, he'll treat you right." "But if you go against him and don't give him love..." You frown slightly and not finish your sentence, confusing her. "What do you mean?" She tilts her head slightly and you shake your head, faking a smile. "It's nothing, Rosie. I'm glad Wilfred has people like you around who care for him."
"Yeah..." She smiles. "Almost everyone here cares for the king. We were all specially picked by him. You rarely get accepted into the castle for a job unless he comes up to you, so I'm not the only one who was picked."
'Oh...' You take another biscuit. 'Well, when she puts it like that, I kind of feel bad for assuming he was trying to toy with her...' You sigh. "So, he's picky with who comes into the castle, huh..." "Mhm." She nods and you take a bite of the biscuit after putting honey on it. "Alrighty."
After that conversation, you both just started talking about random things. It was fun, and you both realized you had so much in common.
You also found out that Rosie had a lover at home, a female named Tamitha Wynstin, a female librarian who worked at one of the libraries nearby. She even told you a lot of her favorite flowers and hobbies.
Eventually, it got dark and Wilfred came back, seeing you both laying in the grass, starring up into the night sky.
He smiles, seeing you enjoy yourself. He hasn't seen you so relaxed like this in a while...
"Y/n." He speaks and you look at him. "Come, it's dinner time."
You sigh and sit up, looking at Rosie who smiles at you. "See you tomorrow, Y/n." "Cya." You smile back and get up going over to Wilfred, frowning at him and walking past him. He chuckles and followed behind, not minding how cold you were being to him.
He already knew he was slowly getting closer to you, whether you knew it or not. So, why not sit back and be patient? Rushing things will only make it worse for him. He'd rather not force you into anything, unless it was needed.
You both head to the dining room and he opens the door for you. Your eyes widen, seeing all the food at the table. "Enjoy, my dear~" He walks to the table and you slowly do the same, surprised he made so much food. The table was never this full... "Why... Why is the table so full?"
"Well," He thinks, sitting down. "I didn't know what you wanted and didn't want to bother asking since you were enjoying Rosie's company. Don't worry, the extra food will be given to the workers here." He fixes himself a plate of food and you quietly nod, doing the same.
Like breakfast and lunch, dinner was also quiet. Only difference was, it wasn't so awkward anymore... You felt rather comfortable tonight.
