Chapter 41

"Y/N! Wake up, Y/N!" Ethan was desperately trying to wake you while defending your unconscious body from Miranda.

"Give me the girl, I'll make her death quick and painless" you heard Miranda laugh.

"Fuck off Miranda!" Ethan snarled at her.

You slowly gained back consciousness and had a loud ringing noise in your ears for a few seconds before fully waking up. You opened your eyes and saw Miranda in an even more deformed form then before, her wings were now some sort of boney spider legs, which were pretty pointy. You looked at Ethan who held a gun at her, trying his best to protect you.

"You want to protect her after she betrayed you, proceeding into your death?"

He continued to shoot at her,

"As you can see, I'm still alive. You on the other hand, will be the one who's dead"

You stood up and looked around, trying to find the dagger.

"Shit. The dagger, where is it.."

Ethan turned around as soon as he heard you, he looked glad that you weren't dead.

"Y/N, thank god. I thought you'd never wake up"

You wanted to answer but Miranda took the chance to attack you two, you quickly shoved him away and tried to dodge Miranda but she had you in a chokehold.

"Give up already. There's no escape or survival!" her grip around your neck tightened. Her long fingers were starting to pierce into your neck, making it bleed.

'Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.' you panicked and struggled to get out of her grip, every breath you took began to shorten. The sound around you also deafened and your vision started to blur. Miranda smiled, seeing you so weak. Suddenly a loud explosion hit her and she let go of you, screaming in pain. You fell to the ground grasping for air. Ethan helped you up and reloaded his weapon, it was the same one he used back in Lord Moreaus Reservoir.

"Thank you..." you rubbed your neck and just felt the warm trail of blood around your hand.

"Shit, you don't look good at all. You're going to lose blood!" Ethan wanted to get something out of his pocket but Miranda shoved him away, dropping his weapon in the process.

"I really enjoy the silliness of you two, thinking you could kill me with this?" she smashed his weapon with her spider like legs and broke it into pieces.

"Mr. Winters, how about we cut a deal? You'll get your precious wife" she grabbed you, making you look at her.

"In exchange for the Maiden, I know that she's a perfect vessel in progress" she smiled at you. Ethan slowly stood up, looking at Miranda and then to you.

"Ethan. Don't listen to her, I saw her kill Mia!"

Mirandas grip around your face tightened.

"Silence! I don't want to hear anything out of your little mouth, or I might have to rip off your tongue" with those words, she quickly silenced you. You turned your head towards Ethan, begging him with your eyes that he knows what he's doing. Miranda walked closer to him, holding her other hand out for him to shake in agreement.

"Alright, you win" he held his hand out.

Your heart dropped and your body started to shake in fear. You didn't want her to continue experiments on you. You tried everything in your power to get out of this womans grasp, but it didn't work, nothing did. You felt tears rolling down your face.

"Ahh~ That's more like it, coming to an agreement is always better then killing" she smiled and shook his hand.

"I think coming to an agreement with a person like you would be better off dead" he quickly sliced her hand off with the dagger and backed away as she yelled in pain. She let go of you, this time Ethan caught you and handed you the dagger.
