He opened the gate, and walked in the dining room. Everyone was there Isa, Elena, Abuela, Abuelo. They were all talking, and fell silent as soon as they saw him. The room fell in an awkward silence to say the least. He stopped walking when he was close to the table. Elena was the one to first break the silence.
"Hey Esteban. How are you? We were waiting for you." said Elena
Esteban said Hi while doing an awkward wave. "I am ok." he continued.
"Why don't you sit down, and we can start eating." said Abuela
Esteban nodded and went and sat on his seat. They sat there staring at each other awkwardly for a while. Soon the servants came, and served the breakfast. They all started eating.
Esteban's POV
Elena and Abuelo started talking about something related to some new policy they are implementing. Isabella started explaining some new invention she made to Abuela. While I just sat there playing with the food on my plate and thinking. Thinking about my life all over again. Seems like I have been doin that a lot these days. I hadn't really eaten anything, but to be honest I wan't even hungry. Suddenly I hear a sound. It takes me out of my train of thought, and back to the real world.
"Huh" I said.
"Esteban, I have been calling you for so long. " said Abeulo.
"Oh Sorry, what were you saying?" I said
"I asked what your plans are for today" said Abuelo.
"I haven't really thought about it. I will maybe go to the library and do some reading." I replied.
Honestly I didn't want to do that. Come to think of it, I didn't want to do anything.
"I am going to be working on my invention in the evening, if you want you can help me with it. Like you used to." said Isa
Like I used to. She's right whenever Isa needed some help with her invention, I always used to help her out. We always had a lot of fun doing it. He smiled thinking about it.
"Sure, we can do that." I said
"Great" added Isa
We all started eating again. Maybe things aren't going to be as bad as I thought they would be. Maybe just maybe they would go back to normal.
He didn't know that for sure. But, what he did know is that as of right now, he has something to look forward too. Helping Isabella out, and for now that's enough.
