Zane's Pov:
I yawn as I make my way out of the two idiot cavanosa's house, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding, and start the long, cold walk back to me, Garroth, and Laurence's dump of a house.
I guess I had fallen asleep because Travis had woken me up around 7:00, telling me I should probably leave before Dante woke up and noticed I was there, to avoid trouble of course.
I had slept weird because my neck had hurt, and I kinda wish I had had something to lean on so I didn't attempt to keep rubbing every five minutes to try and make it feel better.
The air had a kind of frost to it, the kind where if you breathe in it'll feel sharper than usual, my eyes watered slightly at the sudden cold. I shivered in the hoodie that I was wearing, it was worn down from how many times I had worn it, if I was looking for a better winter coat I'd need to buy a new one.
It could have just be because of how early it was, or because the dreaded season was rolling in itself, but it was definitely colder than it had been the past few days, granted how many times I had actually left the house to find out.
I came to a sudden stop, as a familiar building comes into sight. I smile slightly before heading over to the small cafè that sits in the middle of the town.
Before entering, I search my pockets for the device that I needed to call Garroth or Aphmau and have them come save me from the long walk back to my house that would force me to exercise, but to my shock it wasn't there.
I growl as I remember the night before, Aph had taken my phone all for me to talk to that idiot Travis, and if it wasn't for him I'd still have it.
Not even bothering with the cafè, I ran back to the short raven-haired female's house, trudging through the chill of the early morning air.
The sun was just beginning to show, letting off silky rays of vibrant colors such as shades of yellow, pink, and oranges, although it gave very little warmth to the whisps of cold coming from the outdoors.
As I approach her doorstep I lower my mask and stand there panting for awhile, you could see smoke arising from my mouth every time I released a short, tight breath.
Once I had regained my train of thought, I quickly pull up my mask and knock on the door-quite loudly- in one swift motion.
I stand up straighter as I hear the lock unwind, but when the door handle dances and the door is open, the person standing behind it wasn't the shorter female, but a taller male.
"Oh, morning Zane... Did you need something?"
I look up at him and, ever so politely push my way into the house, just so I wasnt freezing myself to death of course.
"Aaron, where is Aph-"
"Sleeping." He shut the door behind the both of us, then turned to me, he seemed to just be staring directly at me.
"So, what did you need." He more of states then asking.
"Er.. Well Aphmau took my phone last night and-"
"It's in the kitchen, follow me" he signals for me to follow him which I instantly do, eager to see if my phone made it through the night in one piece.
I watch silently as he opens a spare drawer which contained a small black object in it. He pulled it out and held it out to me, to which I of course snatched it from him in an instant, flipping it over and on and off, making sure it wasn't broken.
I hear a soft chuckle and look up, to see a smiling Aaron.
"We're more careful than you think Zane."
