There was something about movies that made Avery feel all happy and giddy inside.
She was laying in her bunk on the bus, trying to get some alone time before something hectic happened, so she was watching a movie that she had downloaded on her laptop.
And that movie was How to Train Your Dragon. A movie Avery had grown to love over the past four years of it's release. It was one of her favourite movies. It made her feel happy, at peace.
However, her peaceful state was unfortunately interrupted by a banging on her door.
Annoyed, the girl got up slid off her bed, her feet landing on the floor, and slid open the door to find May standing there, with her arms crossed.
Avery tensed. She was worried that May was going to inform her of a training session they had, but she was not up for it.
Ever since May became Avery's S.O. they had been training. Training all day and whenever there was free time. Thankfully Avery had some skills that she had been taught previously, that May could build on and improve.
In comparison to Skye, Avery had learned a lot more than her within the past week, but that was obviously because Skye hadn't had any experience with combat whatsoever.
Avery let out a huge sigh when May notified her that the team were meeting in the lounge for a mission brief - and not for a training session.
A couple minutes later, Avery found herself in the lounge, sat on the couch next to Fitz, as the team waited for Coulson to come and brief everyone on the new mission.
One of Avery's legs were tucked underneath her, while the other was bent, where she rested her chin on her knee.
Coulson strode into the room, effectively gaining everyone's attention. "A few minutes ago, a S.H.I.E.L.D. transport was attacked while carrying a priority red protected asset, off Route 76 near Sterling." He told them.
"Priority red?"
Coulson pulled out his tablet, pulling up a picture of a man who was slightly familiar to Avery. "The asset was Canadian physicist Dr. Franklin Hall, known for his work..."
Both Fitz and Simmons sat up straighter upon hearing his name. "Oh, no, not Frank."
"Dr Hall? He was our chemical kinetics advisor our second year." Fitz shared.
Fitz-Simmons both looked absolutely distraught from the news. Simmons then spoke up, continuing, "Yeah, he's so enthusiastic about science, we just adored him. We can rescue him, can't we?"
Coulson nodded. "He's one of ours. We're gonna try."
Ward turned to him, and asked the question that everybody else was thinking, "And the attackers?"
Coulson took one look at him, building the tension in the room, as they waited restlessly for Coulson's reply.
"Invisible." Without another glance, Coulson swivelled round, leaving the team gaping at him.
