Over the past few days of living on the bus, Avery and Skye had retreated to the S.H.I.E.L.D. car sitting in the cargo hold. Not because they wanted to distance themselves from the team, but because it was more for comfort or a shield from the outside world. Inside they were protected and safe. It was a place where they could be themselves, and get to know each other better.

So far their friendship had been growing at an increasingly rapid rate. Especially when they bonded over their shared interests. During one of Skye's rants, the girls decided to teach each other the skills and tricks they had picked up which would benefit them both with hacking.

A loud knock on the window startled the girls, halting their work on their laptops.

Rolling down the window, the girls were greeted by the face of Coulson staring in at them. "What's up, Phil?" Skye asked.

Coulson scrunched up his nose in disgust. "I'd prefer you not to call me Phil," He admitted.

Avery leant her head against the headrest, a growing smile on her face as she watched the scene play out before her.

Skye nodded. "Ok, you're the boss. A.C.," The new nickname flowed off her tongue like she had just thought of it. "Just missing my van a bit. Taking a little me time." Skye's eyes landed on Avery, so she then corrected herself, "Well, Avery's here too."

Coulson shook his head, an amused smile on his lips. "I want your help with something." His demeanour switched to serious as he changed the topic of conversation.

Skye took a breath and leant forward. "Hit me with it."

"You ever rob a bank?"

"No."

"An armoured car?" Coulson questioned.

"Nope."

"How about a casino?" He raised a brow.

Skye glanced over at Avery in question. "Should I be offended?"

Avery shook her head. "He's probably leading up to something."

Skye looked back at Coulson, waving a hand to urge him on.

"Someone's stealing millions of dollars in diamonds. They found a way to crack the security systems. I want you to figure out their exploit," Coulson explained to her. Truth be told, Coulson was extremely glad he had hackers on his team - it was really useful in these sorts of situations.

Avery lifted her head to look at him, asking,  "Can I join you guys?"

Coulson knew Avery was brilliant at hacking, having been there when Natasha was teaching the girl some things, but he needed her expertise elsewhere.

"No. I want you to stay and help Fitz-Simmons in the lab." Coulson shook his head. "You're expertise will be useful there."

Groaning, Avery practically fell out the car when she swung open the door, but quickly stood to her feet, pushing the door shut, and sluggishly moving towards the lab with a small sigh.
