The Battle of New York

I read the entire file twice. I just stared at the file when I heard the door open. I looked up to see Steve standing there in his suit. He was holding his helmet in his left hand.

"We found him." He said.

"Where?" I closed the file.

"Stark Tower." He answered. I got up and put the file away.

"Let's go." I said walking over to him. But before I could leave the room he gently grabbed my arm.

"Are you okay?" He looked down at me. "I know that keeping the helicarrier in the air took a lot out of you."

"I'll be fine, Soldier Boy." I said looking at him. "Let's finish this so I can take a nap." I joked. He slowly let go of me and we headed to one of the Quinjets with Nat and Clint. We walked into the jet with a worker in it.

"Hey, you guys aren't authorized to be in here." He said.

"Son, just don't." Steve said.

"We got a world to save, so if you please don't mind getting off the jet." I said nicely. He just nodded and quickly walked off. Clint started it up with Nat being the co-pilot. Steve and I stood behind them and we took off with Tony leading.

"Stark, we're on your three, headed northeast." Nat told him.

"What? Did you stop for drive-through?" Tony asked. "Swing up Park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you." We saw him with aliens on his tail. Nat started firing at them. We flew up to the Stark Tower.

"Nat?" Clint said.

"I see him." She replied. We stopped in front of Loki who was fighting Thor. Loki aimed his specter at us and fired. He hit the left engine. We started falling. Steve and I held on tight as we lost control. We crashed and quickly got out of the jet. We ran down the street with Steve leading us.

"We gotta get back up there!" Steve says.

We made it to a bridge and stopped. Looking up at the portal a giant alien looking centipede came flying out with a roar. It flew over us and the Chitauri jumped off the side of it, landed one the buildings and broke inside of them.

"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asked.

"Seeing. Still working on believing." He said. "Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?"

"Banner?" Steve asks.

"Just keep me posted." Tony said.

We took cover behind a taxi.

"We've got civilians still trapped up here." Clint said. A group of the Chitauri flew past with Loki on one of them.

"Loki." Steve said. Loki started blowing up everything in his path. "They're fish in a barrel down there." A few of the Chitauri started attacking us. I threw out a few of my white wisps at them.

"We got this. It's good. Go." Nat told me and Steve.

"Do you think you can hold them off?" Steve asks Clint.

"Captain," Clint smirked, getting an arrow ready. "it would be my genuine pleasure." He got up and shot one. The arrow broke and hit 4 others around it. Steve nodded over at me and he jumped off the bridge onto a bus. I flew after him. Steve and I raced down the street over to a group of police officers. Steve landed on top of the car in front of them. I landed next to him.

"You need men in these buildings." Steve points at the buildings. "There are people inside and they're going to be running right into the line of fire."

"You take them to the basements or through the subway." I said. "You keep them off the streets."

"We need a perimeter as far as 39th." Steve said.
