*3rd person's pov*

Mason opened her eyes to find herself in a hospital bed. She looked to see Steve laying back in the chair with his eyes closed. He looked peaceful. Mason couldn't help but stare. He's cuts and bruises were taken care of and he was dressed in comfy clothes. As she looked at him she could help but think that Steve Rogers was the kindest man. He was beyond compassionate, determined, and caring. Mason never truly understood how someone can be so amazing. But Mason didn't love Steve for being Captain America, or that he was built. Hell, it never crossed her mind. She loved how old fashioned he is. She loves all of his flaws and insecurities. Because, it helped him become a better man. The man he is today. Mason saw pictures of what Steve looked like before the super soldier serum and she still thought he was the most handsome man in the world. Mason never thought she would fall for him. Not when she spent most of her life not knowing what love was. Mason lived her life in constant fear but when she met Steve, that fear disappeared. Steve's blue eyes slowly opened. He saw that Mason was awake and looking at him. He quickly got up and sat on the edge of the bed. Mason gave him a soft smile.

"Hi." Mason's voice was raspy.

"Hey." He smiled. "Do you need anything? I can get the doctor or-"

"Water would be nice." She cut him off. He went to the side table and poured her a cup of water. He put a lid on it and a straw. He sat back on the bed and held the cup for her as she took a long sip. "How long was I out?"

"Just a day." He said placing the cup down on the side table. Mason hummed in response.

"Where is everyone? Are they okay? Are you okay?" She asked.

"Everyone's okay, but Bruce disappeared." He said.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Well, I guess the Hulk, but he got Ultron off the Quinjet but stayed on and it was in stealth mode. We can't find him." He told her.

"How's Nat? Nat and Bruce were going to be together."

"She's distracting herself." He said.

"Mmm. I'll talk to her later." She said. "What about Tony and Thor?"

"Stark's working on a surprise or something for us. Thor is preparing to head back to Asgard."

"The others?"

"Vision is helping Stark. Wanda's in your room. It was the only room that wasn't being used."

"That's fine. How is she? Has she talked about how she feels about losing her brother?"

"Not yet. I don't think she will open up anytime soon."

"I don't want her to feel alone." She says.

"I don't either."

"She has us now." Mason held onto his hand.

"She does." He gave her hand a little squeeze.

"What about you? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I'm not the one in the hospital bed." He says.

"Touché." Mason let out an airy laugh. "I don't think I'm going back to the cabin anytime soon."

"Not alone, that is." He said.

"I don't need a babysitter."

"Not a babysitter. Just someone who cares about you to look out for you." Steve says. Mason's soft smile grew.

"You are the only one that I let come to my cabin."

"Well, then I guess it was to be me." He playfully rolled his eyes. Mason chuckled.
