Cale who muttered the names of those monsters he only read through the reports he sought out in the past as well as the feeling of thrill to see these monsters here when it was common knowledge that they only existed inside fantasy books, Cale's lips tugged up to a grin.
The grin was witnessed by everyone who's with him and an unsettling feeling quickly found its way into their chests.
Their eyes turned sharp as they glared at the monsters who're standing still just meters away from the trees. They had resent monsters since the moment these abominable creatures appeared and wrecked everything and took the lives of many.
But right now, they even more so resent these damned creatures for appearing and making their respected Commander go up here where everyone knew how dangerous it is for him to be here.
The moment that the news reaches them that most of Kim Rok Soo's abilities were sealed, they were sad but at the same time relieved.
They had been there when their frail and young Commander took the lead and had shed more blood than them. They witnessed how he throw up blood after overusing his abilities, they witness how he sacrificed his own safety to save them and the shelter. And even with how they only knew him for a short time, it is undeniable that they want him to take care of himself too and leave the front lines to them who are stronger, physically.
But right now, the grin that had made its way to their young Commander's face is the evidence that he's interested in those monsters.
"Mr. Lee Soo Hyuk, did Dr. Kang not told you to keep Mr. Kim Rok Soo inside the shelter and stop him from stepping foot in the watchtower?"
The soft question from the newcomer resounded on top of the watchtower as the others flinch from the familiar voice.
They knew him so well. Aside from the other ability users that their young Commander brought with him, this particular ability user is the hardest to approach. Not in a sense that they find this person scary, but rather, unsettling.
"...Joo Ho-Shik."
Choi Han muttered next to Cale as he looked at Joo Ho-Shik with slightly uncomfortable eyes. This person didn't change at all who reminded him so much of a certain Guardian Knight who was being resented by Cale so much when he found out about the book that Clopeh wrote after the war ended.
No, Cale just doesn't like that lunatic. End of discussion.
Joo Ho-Shik and Kim Woo came up the stairs and looked towards the others who are here as well. They couldn't catch up to Cale and the others earlier as they had to inform the others to prepare in the case that this would break out into an intense fight.
Cale's eyes lingered for a moment to Joo Ho-Shik before turning away to sigh. He can understand the situation well. Cale can't use his ancient powers as he and Kim Rok Soo already announced that his abilities were sealed, so he can't just use those in front of everyone here when he clearly stated that he can't use those abilities anymore.
His eyes looked at the three monsters before looking back to them who was staring intensely at him that scared Cale a little.
"Mr. Kim Rok Soo."
Cale flinched inwardly as he stared at Joo Ho-Shik. He can feel that Raon and the others are watching these too and seem to be waiting for the scene to unfold.
Or rather, they just chose to stay quiet as they also wanted to know what's the reason for these reactions they are getting when Cale just stepped on the watchtower.
It was truly frustrating how they don't know what's happening. What more, Cale didn't told them what he, Choi Han and Alberu had done in this world aside from saying that it was a test and they just fight a bit.
But, knowing Cale, that bit he's saying might be something like an equivalent to him saying he'll be back after smacking someone from behind but ended up blowing a whole underground city.
That's why they can't trust that "Fight a bit" that Cale told them about.
"You're not thinking of going out on your own right?"
'Hm?'
Cale flinched as he stared at Ho-Shik with a brusque look. The ability users who saw that drastic change of emotion in Cale's face, from cold to a delinquent looking face, thought that their commander-nim was dissatisfied that they seem like stopping him from going to the battlefield.
Which, is a 100% different from what Cale is thinking at the moment.
'What the hell is this bastard talking about? Who wants to go out and battle what?'
Cale shivered inwardly as he stared at Ho-Shik with cold eyes.
Joo Ho-Shik shook his head from side to side as he stared at Cale with determination.
"Commander-nim, I can't allow that." "What—" "Even if you want us to be safe..." "Wait—" "BUT! We can't allow you to step on the battlefield and shed blood for us!" "What..."
'What the fuck are you talking about? Why would I want to go there and throw up blood?!'
Cale shuddered inwardly as he listens to the continuous vicious words pouring out of Ho-Shik's mouth. He wants to what?
Him? Cale? Cale Henituse? The Cale Henituse who don't like any kind of pain and wanted a peaceful life as a rich slacker?
Cale's head started to throb listening to this Joo Ho-Shik's words as he frowned and stared at this crazy lunatic who continues to spout things that made him want to faint.
"Wait. Joo Ho-Shik-nim—"
"Oh my."
This time, Cale's nape turned cold as he felt piercing stares coming from the side. He gulped when he heard a familiar set of footsteps coming towards him. With the clacking of the fancy leather shoes that he hears every morning that delivers his morning tea right after waking up, Cale felt like the reaper's going to suck out his soul and take it away while waiting for his butler to close the distance between them.
'Damn it.'
"I think I just heard something interesting, young master-nim."
