Alberu jumped over the tall gates of the shelter. His large body looked majestic as his dark mane fluttered by the wind.

This scene left the ability users, who were guarding the gate, captivated in a daze— failing to notice that their young commander was on the monster's back. Probably because of the long and fluffy fur of the dark tiger, Cale's body, which was small and scrawny, had been covered by it.

Cale looked back as he sighed and inhaled slowly as he clutched on Alberu's fur tightly. He's certain that once the others found out that he and Alberu went out, they'll come looking for them.

And considering how special his family is, going far would at least make time for him to calm his nerves that was constantly shaking due to the tense atmosphere earlier.

Cale felt like he's gone for good after being on the receiving end of those vicious and heavy gazes. He had already known everyone since they've been through so many things, most of the time on the battlefield, where, of course, trust is the most precious thing to give towards each other. So it's not an exaggeration to say that they trust each other so much that it's hard to measure.

He had known them for the shortest time but he felt like he had known them for a long long time.

That's why, of course, Cale wanted to tell them his past. But he would always want to step back, thinking that it wasn't important since it happened in the past.

But Cale was also aware that thinking like this is selfish. He hadn't tried it yet but he's quick to judge that it's useless. Well, that's because, for him, his past was just a useless piece of him that wasn't even necessary for the others to know.

He's aware of how sad and aggrieving his past is, and that's the reason why. Cale had known the looks of sympathy and pity that others would give him since the moment he lost his parents. Those eyes that looked at him with pitying and sympathy aggrieved him even more.

If he could, he would want his eyes to be blinded than to see such looks on the faces of people who looked like they were sympathizing with him, instead of relief, he felt more lonely and miserable.

Cale's eyes glimmer as he inhaled again.

'It's enough that only I feel it.'

Why would he want to see others feeling bad because of him? It's unnecessarily annoying.

Cale opened his eyes and looked ahead.

If they escaped this time, they should do it properly.

"Hyung."

Alberu, who had focused on running and let Cale think for a moment, spoke as his ears moved slightly towards Cale.

"Where are we going?"

"It's not me who's familiar with this world."
