Luna was now 24. She got married and is now 9 months pregnant with her daughter. She was staying with her parents to feel more comfortable. Her husband, John was worried all the time thinking her water will break when he's not there.
One night, Luna started feeling pain she went to her parents room.
"Mom?" Luna asked.
"Honey what's wrong?" Paul asked.
"Mom what does feel like to be in labor?" Luna asked.
"How do you feel right now?" Paul asked.
"Period cramps but way worse." Luna said.
"Yup it's time." Paul said.
Paul got out of bed and helped Luna lie down.
"Just lay down and we'll start timing the contractions." Paul said.
Gene woke up and said "Luna are you alright?"
"She's labor honey." Paul said. "Go get john."
Gene got out of bed and got John. Luna was screaming in pain. John ran into the room.
"Oh my god honey why didn't you wake me up?" John asked as he held Luna's hand.
"I didn't wanna wake you up if it was a false alarm." Luna said.
"Ok John go get the car I'll stay with her and Gene called the hospital saying we'll be there soon." Paul said.
They did as they were told.
"Mommy i'm scared." Luna said.
"I know you are sweetie, but you will get through it." Paul said.
"Weren't you scared when you had me?" Luna asked.
"Of course I was. I was afraid you won't be healthy or something will go wrong. The ancestors were with me and I know they are right now." Paul said.
"Ok mom, let's do this." Luna said.
"There's my brave little girl." Paul said.
He kissed her forehead and said a blessing in their ancestors language to help Luna with the birth. He helped Luna get to the car.
They arrived at the hospital and Luna got a room. Paul never lefted her side he was helping her with the contractions. Gene was talking to John about fatherhood.
"Don't worry you'll be great father sure i was nervous for Luna. Me and Paul are proud of how we raised her i'm sure you two will do the same with yours." Gene said.
"Ok thanks Gene." John said.
"Of course you're like a son to me. I'm damn happy my daughter picked the right man." Gene said.
"Motherhood isn't easy but it is worth it. I remember when you were born my motherly instinct came in and I'm so proud of the woman you have become." Paul said.
"Thanks mom." Luna said.
The doctor said it was time to push. Luna wanted both of her parents in the room and her husband.
Luna was pushing and screaming.
"You got this honey." John said.
"SHUT UP!" Luna screamed.
"Sweetie keep going she's almost here." Paul said.
"Little star you got this come on." Gene said.
Luna did one last push. The room was filled with a baby's cry. The doctor put the baby girl on Luna's chest.
"Oh my god honey our daughter is beautiful. She's got your nose and my chin." John said. "You did wonderful."
They both kissed. The doctors cleaned up the baby.
The doctors brought her back swaddled in a blanket with a pink hat. Luna held her.
They decided to name her Amy Sunshine Larson.
"Here mom it's your turn to hold her." Luna said.
Paul holded his granddaughter and started crying.
"Honey our first grandchild." Paul said to Gene.
"I know. Hello sweetheart it's your grandpa and grandma." Gene said.
"Her name is Amy Sunshine Larson." Luna said.
"Aww what beautiful name." Paul said. "Ok time to go back to your mommy."
Paul handed back Amy to her mother. Luna started feeding her.
"I love you mom and dad. Thank you for being there for me." Luna said.
"Aww we love you and you're welcome." Paul said as he kissed her forehead.
Paul and Gene's other kids came to see Amy.
"She's beautiful sis." Noah said.
"I can't believe i'm a uncle." Aiden said.
"I have a niece I can't wait to teach her makeup." Ruby said.
"Good job sis i'm so proud of you." Selena said.
"I'm a auntie yayyyy." Lily said.
"All thanks you guys. Amy is very lucky to have wonderful aunts and uncles. I love you guys so much." Luna said.
"We love you too." The others said.
They did their sibling hug. Paul couldn't help but cry. All his kids used to be little babies but now they're grown up. No matter they'll always be his babies.
"Gene they grow up so fast." Paul said.
"I know honey. We have many grandchildren that will come soon we have a new generation of musicians." Gene said.
Paul and Gene kissed.
"I love you my starchild." Gene said.
"I love you too my demon." Paul said.
