Believer ◊ Star Wars [2]

hey hey here's an update - important author's note

folks and friends, it's been a minute but i've risen from my academic grave to deliver you this message: don't worry, i'm still updating this book. in fact, i have been the whole time!

actually, warrior's undergone the most editing throughout the past few months. during what you dear readers have thought was a drought, i've been adding in minor edits, snippets, and changes to the first book in this series. it's all been in sporadic spurts when i've had the inspiration or time to do so (during the school year, i'm not only a full time student, but involved in a bunch of extracurricular stuff that steals both frequently). it's nothing huge or major that affects the overarching plot in a dramatic way. just spiffy-ing up some of the chapters i published years and years ago.

if i edited warrior to my ideal of perfection before i continued with on with believer, you'd never get an update again. but never fear! i finally come to the conclusion that i've stuck placed myself in a perpetual hell if i keep trying to make either of these books flawless before continuing on with them. both are a product of my earlier wattpad days and that's more than fine.

BUT i've still got a few major reworks to do. the first on my to-do list is the ratakka chapters. there's one large change i want to make that won't derail the already established development i've given to mara, poe, and bb-8. it's not even super huge, but it will be a several thousand word addition that better aids in making the whole arc less of a little get-to-know you adventure and more 'this is the worst day of mara's life and here's why'. the majority of the plot will remain the same, as will the character's relationships to one another at the end of act two.

once i have those fully written, i will take down and republish all of the ratakka chapters so you can read the updated version in all it's traumatic glory.

the next big updates will be to the last chapter and epilogue of warrior. i wrote and published those six months before the last jedi came out, meaning I had yet to get a solid idea of what believer would look like. those will be getting the biggest overhaul, but the general vibe will still be there. it's just gonna lead into the sequel better! once again, i will reupload those when they are finished.

believer will get an all new prologue!! the current prologue will become chapter one, chapter two will become chapter three, and yadayadayada you get the idea. what will the prologue be, you might ask? you'll see when that gets published!

all the updates i've mentioned are written in my drafts to some extent. so is the first part of the next chapter, but please bear with me as i maneuver stuff around. the timetables i set for myself are rarely met between life happening and me screaming at my computer in frustration at my own word vomit.

the last thing i want to add is a resounding thank you. warrior has over 400k reads and i still get wonderful comments, votes, and interactions with you guys through it. thank you thank you thank you. this series is still loved years after its publishing and that forever fuels my inspiration. it means the world and beyond to me that there are still people invested in mara's story even if my creativity for it comes and goes. i've still a story i can't wait to tell and so much of what's to come is already written (so maybe the third act of this book had a bunch of scenes written for it while i left you guys on a cliffhanger for months.....just maybe)
