I had all of 3 seconds to make it back in the house or London would flip.
I was racing through LA streets, dodging all people in my way on the sidewalks, and even jumping over cars. Well...figuratively.
I didn't need to hear her rants about me being with Sebastian. In fact, I rather forget the memory of this entire day with him. Okay, maybe only the last part of the day with him really.
To be honest, it was an amazing time overall until he killed it with saying what he did literally in my face. I was starting to have enough of important people devaluing me because I was lower status than they were or in Sebastian's case, not cool enough to meet his girlfriend.
I mean, I didn't want to by choice. Even being in the car listening to Madison's voice, made me cringe with great anger and annoyance for reasons that escaped me. But to say my new friend didn't want her to know I even existed in his life now as more than just the scum at the bottom of his shoe as he referred to me once...made me feel regret.
Regret I even took Ashley's advice on getting to know him. That I took mine.
Still, when I saw him tomorrow I actually felt in the back of my mind that I should hear him out this time. After the first incident and I didn't let him, I wanted to try be different with this situation and I was going to make him work hard for saying something so blunt.
With only one second left on the clock according to my phone, I then grabbed the front door handle and bolted inside the house and closed the door sighing in relief.
As I was about to continue catching my breath once again, I suddenly heard that voice.
"Where have you been Lexi?!" London asked me, standing in front.
I opened my eyes seeing her directly in front of me, feeling like I had guilt written all over me. In any minute, I wouldn't be surprised if she predicted everything I had done since my meeting. I wasn't the best liar.
"London! Hey! W-w-what are you doing here?!" I asked her, trying to stir up conversation.
She looked to me weirdly as even standing there she looked more glamorous in a t-shirt and sweatpants than I did in regular clothes.
"I live here...with you!" She replied knowingly. "Why are you so flushed? Where were you? I was trying to film a new vlog 20 minutes ago. I needed my camera girl." She asked me.
I could answer one of those questions, but the other I had to make something up quickly or I was going to be read like an open book.
"Well, I was out. Yes...you told me to go to that meeting remember?!" I questioned her nodding.
"The meeting took 5 hours? Does that mean I'm in the clear?!" She asked then excitedly.
That was just so like her. Always find a way to revert the topic of conversation on her again.
I didn't mind this though verses all the other times. I was trying to buy myself some time to tell her what I was doing without really telling her what I was doing.
"Uh no." I simply answered.
She groaned. "Ugh! No! This is not fair! Now I have to be grossed out by Sebastian's appearance longer than anyone should ever!" She then said becoming more closer to me, sniffing around. "You smell like pork on your breath..." she finished raising one her eyebrow's.
I looked to her bitterly before I caught onto her question. "Yes! Because I was...getting a burger." It was technically the truth.
"Ohh, I wish my cheat day was today." She said sighing and pouting.
I knew what she meant. I felt I was cheating in someway for her.
She then shrugged casually before she began to walk back upstairs to her room before I suddenly remembered something I had to do first. Even though Sebastian made me feel like a loser at the last minute of our time together, he did bring valuable points that I did want to test out ourselves.
She just had to listen to me first.
"London wait! I have something to ask you." I said.
She turned to me and walked over to the living room to sit on the couch. I followed her shyly and nodded.
"Alright make it quick. I'm about to troll others social media to make mine look better." She told me. I smirked. Of course she was.
"Great! I just had an idea for what a new video could be for you. While I was getting a burger with-" I began to blurt out before I stopped my stupid mouth. "Myself!" I continued on. She looked at me bewildered. "I wanted to see if maybe we could do something different for a change. I know you care about the environment." I told her.
"Since when?" She inquired baffled. I grunted to myself.
"Well you could! In fact, how about instead of your next video being about a huge Prada haul again, we can maybe do a segment of small businesses and promote their products too. That way, if they want us to help them with selling more of their products when we go viral with your video, we can be like giving back." I explained in the best "London" way possible.
She continued looking at me bewildered and shrugged.
"Give back to what? My fans?" She asked innocently.
Okay, we could work with this. I had this nailed in the bag.
"Uh...sure! We'll be giving back to them by showing how much we love and care about them." I then said smiling. She smiled excitedly and jumped up.
"Oh good! Then we should definitely do that. Have fun setting that up girlie!" She then said casually. "But right now, since we missed the natural light I wanted for filming, do you wanna get mani and pedi's with me? Please? I'll throw in dinner for you again!" She said happily.
I stared at her and could see she was very hopeful about my answer. I smiled and nodded.
"Of course girlie." I answered mockingly.
She squealed happily and rushed over to hug me tightly.
"Yay! Come on! I'll even pay for you too!" She replied, pulling me back a little. "But you are paying for your own tips." She finished.
I giggled and shrugged realizing something I never really thought of before.
London could have her kind moments too.
