Y/N
"Is today something special?" my brother asked as I stepped down from the stairs.
"Ummm...why?" I looked at him, expecting him to guess.
"Nothing...you just look unusual," he said and went back to his phone.
I told him that I was leaving for work but after not getting any response from him, I went towards my car.
"But why do I look unusual? I wear this type of thing every day!" I talked to my reflection at the car window after looking down at my clothes. It was just a shirt and pants. But yes, I did wear makeup because I wanted to look good.
"Mam I think you're late!" my driver said as I was lost in my thoughts looking at myself.
After coming back to my senses, I sat inside the car.
Reaching half of the destination, my driver looked at me from the rearview mirror and said, "A very happy birthday to you mam!"
I was surprised, "How do you know that it's my birthday today?"
"Every staff in the house knows that. And so do I!" he smiled. I was so happy that at last someone wished me today. I never expected that I would get my first birthday wish from my driver. But still, it felt good, as my driver was around the same age as Appa, and he was like a father figure to me.
When I reached the office, my manager handed me a box wrapped in gift paper.
"Happy Birthday mam. Stay blessed always!"
she gave me a big smile and I almost got teary-eyed.She always remembered my birthday, and never forgot to gift me something. She was like my older sister.
Now that I had started seeing so good people in my life, the handsome cashier from the coffee house, my driver, my manager, I felt that I was slowly finding my family in people who doesn't even have a blood relation with me. You know it's true, your close ones are not there for you when you need them the most, but God sends kind people instead who doesn't even know you.
My mood was lifted. I was happy. And I wanted this happiness to spread somewhere. So I asked my manager to look for the nearest orphanage because I wanted to give those cute and cool kids some gifts.
After an hour, she showed me that there was an orphanage 2 miles away from my office, and most of the kids there were 7-15 years old.
An hour later, I put my all work aside and just went to drive my car. I didn't allow the driver to drive since I wanted to go alone. On the way, I stopped at a toy shop and bought tons of plushies and toys for the kids.
I wanted to make them happy since there was no one to make me happy. I wanted to find my happiness in them.
After I reached the orphanage, I asked the owner if I could distribute the gifts among the kids or not, and she agreed. She commanded a worker of hers to carry all the goods to the garden since the kids were there.
I followed the worker and when we were on the way, I heard a very beautiful voice singing.
The voice was like honey to my ears, and whoever was singing, his falsettos felt like magic along with the sweet melody of the guitar.
As soon as I reached the garden, I saw all the children gathered around the man who was singing. I tried to look at his face, but the kids were in big numbers. They pushed me away when I tried to go in the front.
The worker called for the kids and after they saw all the toys and plushies, they ran there. And that's when I saw his face, and I was astonished.
He sighed as the kids left his side, and packed his guitar in the gig bag. He stood up and was amazed after looking at me.
"You?" we both exclaimed pointing at each other.
He ran to me like a kid, "I told you we are going to meet soon"
I was still surprised. I never actually expected that I would meet him again.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Just came here to sing for the kids. And you?"
"You can sing?"
"Yeah, want to hear?" he asked, pointing at his guitar.
"Maybe later. But I brought some gifts for the kids and I've to distribute them," I said and walked towards the kids.
"Ms Y/N," he shouted from behind, "Let's have a talk after this!"
I nodded.
I never expected him to be here. I first met him at the coffee shop, and then he saved my life, and now again. What's was happening? And now this guy could sing too!
This Kim Seokjin was confusing me. He was like everywhere, everywhere.
I started distributing the gifts to the kids, and they were really happy, and I was double happy seeing them. Seokjin was standing far from there and was smiling. His plumpy smile was really addictive to look at, and now it was getting hard for me to pay attention to the children.
As our eyes met after two or three minutes, he winked at me and I was hella shocked.
'You just wait. Let me end this and then see what I would do to you!' I thought.
After everything ended nicely, he asked me to have a talk. The orphanage had a big park and there was also a lake, so we took a small walk on the lakeside.
"Why did you wink at me, huh? Do you know my nails are sharp to even scratch a neck?" I glared at him.
"When? When did I wink?" he started acting as he forgot, but then he said, "Oh I'm sorry! It's my habit. Whenever I meet eyes, I can't help but wink."
I made a disgusted face, "That's a really weird habit."
He laughed with his usual windshield wiper noise.
"Well," he stopped and looked at me, "Don't you think we're meeting often?"
I nodded, "I think you're stalking me!"
He laughed again.
"If you think I'm stalking you, then I've nothing to do about that. But I think it's something else!"
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"It's called destiny."
What? Destiny? Did he believe in such cliché things as destiny?
"Well, I don't believe in destiny, and why would destiny make us meet?" I answered proudly.
He let out a little laugh, "It's up to you if you believe it or not. But I just felt it so I told you. Don't take me wrong!" he said this, picked up his gig bag and disappeared from my view.
I stood there debating if it was destiny due to which we were crossing paths again and again.
