Taehyung followed his elder brother into the next room. Yoongi turned and gave him a hard stare.

"Why were you in her room? In her bed?" Yoongi asked clearly angry.

"She had a nightmare. I went to check on her I felt her distress and then when she woke up she asked me to stay with her." Taehyung explained.

"In her bed?" Yoongi said in disbelief.

"I tried to sleep on the couch or the floor but she asked me to sleep on the bed. She wanted me there. I wouldn't crawl into bed with her given her history." Taehyung said annoyed at the accusation.

"Ivy..." Yoongi said not looking at Taehyung.

He was looking beyond him. Taehyung turned to see where he was looking only to see his mate looking at him with tears in your eyes. Shame and heartbreak filled your face. He immediately knew he'd chosen the wrong words.

"Ivy... I didn't..." Taehyung began.

"No I understand." You said and scurried away.

"Shit." Taehyung said and took off after you.

"Tae!" Yoongi called after him.

"Not now Yoongi. You've done enough." Taehyung growled and went off to find you.

Jimin and Jungkook were playing with Misha in the big living area. Jungkook saw Tae and waved. Then he saw his brother's distress and went to him.

"Have you seen Ivy?" Taehyung asked.

"She said she wasn't feeling well. She went to her room why?" Jungkook asked softly.

"She overheard a conversation Yoongi and I were having. I said the wrong thing. I need to fix it." Taehyung said the words falling like rain out of his mouth.

"Oh... well she's probably in her room." Jungkook said understandingly.

"Thanks." Taehyung said as he made his way to your room.

He knocked on the door with no answer. He tried the knob to find it locked. He knocked again.

"Ivy. Ivy, please open the door. What you heard isn't what I meant." He said softly to the door.

He knew what you probably thought. You more than likely thought he didn't want you because of your son or your trauma. That was not the case at all. He definitely did not care about any of that. He wanted to protect and love you.

He pressed back against the door. He sighed deeply. He slid down the door, sitting and leaning against it. He waited patiently for you to answer. He hummed to himself while he sat there waiting.

The door opened. He fell to the floor. His head hit the hard wood.

"Shit." He cursed and rubbed his head.

"I'm sorry. I... I... I thought you left. I didn't... I..." You stammered from somewhere above him.

He opened his eyes to find you cowering away from him. He slowly rose to his knees. He knelt before you and smiled.

"I'm fine. I have thick skull." He said teasingly.

You just looked at him with apprehensiveness and suspicion. He stayed kneeling before you and smiling. Your face softened a bit.

"What you heard earlier..." He tried to explain.

"No I get it. I am damaged goods. I'm not what anyone would want in a mate. I have been chewed up and spit out. I know what I am. Nothing." You said looking at the ground.
