Chapter 7: Ivy

You'd held Taehyung all of the night. He was cuddled into you so perfectly. You never wanted to let him go. He made everything feel so safe and protected. He made you feel like nothing could harm you as long as he was there with you.

You'd fallen asleep at one point. Then was woken by a finger stroking your jawline tenderly. Your eyes opened slowly. You turned to look at Tae. He looked abashed.

"Sorry I couldn't help it. You're beautiful." He said sheepishly.

You rolled your eyes and looked at the ceiling. Suddenly Tae was hovering over you. You heart skipped a beat.

"Don't roll your eyes at me for calling you beautiful." He said sternly.

"But I..." You began.

"Am an angel sent from heaven? The most beautiful woman in the world? A goddess divine?" He said seriousness laced in his words.

"Tae..." you said exasperatedly.

"No, you don't get to talk down about yourself. Not anymore. Not with me." He said seriously.

You looked up at the beautiful man above and wondered how he was even real. How had you come to find a man so wonderful? You placed a hand tenderly on his cheek. He leaned into e contact and close his eyes. Your eyes found his lips that were up turned into a tender smile. You slowly leaned up and pressed your lips lightly against his.

He froze. You pulled back. He held your face from going to far. He looked into your eyes. His deep soulful eyes boring into you. He brought your lips back together. This time not a peck but real deep kiss. One of those kisses that sends a bolt of electricity through your entire being. Lips danced together and soon you were both breathless.

"Ivy..." he said softly into your neck.

"Yes?" You said panting slightly.

"We have to stop." He said groaning.

"Why do we have to do that?" You asked giggling.

"Because if we don't stop now. I don't know if I'll be able to control myself. You are so addicting." He said rolling onto his back away from you.

"So are you." You said smiling a little.

"Really?" He said sitting up on his side to look at you.

"Yes. You make me forget that I'm broken. That I'm not whole. You make me feel safe. You give me peace. You make it easy to be intimate. You never force anything. That alone makes me want you even more. You give me butterflies. I thought... all that was over for me. Then I met you and you changed everything." You said words tumbling from you like water over the rocks.

Taehyung looked at you with such adoration and pride it was nearly painful. No one apart from your son had ever looked at you with anything other than distain or pity. Tae however looked at you like you hung the stars in the sky. That was something you don't think you'll ever get used to.

He gently leaned in and kissed you on the lips lightly. He pulled back. He brought you closer to him. He cuddled you into him.

"I can't believe I found you." He said softly.

"Nor I you." You whispered back.

Then you drifted into peace filled sleep.

You were woke by Hobi coming and saying that SKZ pack was coming. Taehyung stretched and got out of bed. Your gaze followed him. He looked at you with big, soft eyes.

"You can stay in bed if you'd like." He said softly.

"I'll come." You said getting out of bed.

You went with him to the front foyer. Your hand in his. You could feel his worry. You squeezed his hand tightly. He looked at you and smiled.

By the time you entered the pack was already in the house. Tae immediately put himself in between you and them.

"No one will touch her. You must be Ivy. I've heard much about you. I promise my pack will keep you and your pup safe." The one that was clearly the alpha said bowing slightly.

"Thank you." You said from behind Tae.

"I'm Taehyung, her mate." Tae growled slightly.

The way he said mate set your body on fire. Hear pooling in your lower belly. You knew Tae could smell you. He tensed.

"Taehyung... Enough. You heard him say they were here to help. Why don't you and Ivy go back to bed? Misha is safe with us." Rose said firmly.

Taehyung looked like he wanted to stand his ground. He wanted to show these new people that you were his. Rose gave him hard look. He sighed and you wrapped your hand around his arm.

"Yes, Luna." He said and you left the foyer.

He led you back to the room. He picked you up and wrapped your legs around his middle. Your heart was pounding. The heat from earlier returning with a vengeance. Tae's eyes darkened.

"Ivy... you have to stop smelling so enticing." He said moaning.

"I'm sorry." You said shame filling you.

You knew this was coming. He didn't actually want you. He would do his duty as your mate. He'd protect you and make you safe. That was all. This wasn't a real coupling. You felt tears prick your eyes. Tae sighed deeply and sat on the bed you in his lap, straddling his thighs.

"Ivy you are doing it again." He said tenderly.

"What?" Your voice breaking.

"Talking down to yourself. Tell me what your saying about yourself in your head." He said firmly.

His hands were rubbing small intricate circles on your hips making your brain go haywire. You hadn't been this turned on in awhile. He made your body and mind do things you'd thought impossible.

"You don't want me." You whispered.

"Excuse me?" He asked incredulously.

"Why would you? I'm nothing special." You said not looking at him.

"You're kidding? Ivy. You have been through so much. I'm taking things slow. I want you to trust me. I want you to trust that I am not using your body for my own purposes. I want you to know that when we come together intimately that it's because I want to feel connected to you in a deeper way. That I just want to show you my love in a more tangible way." He said caressing your body as he spoke.

"Your love?" You asked.

"Yes." He said smiling.

"You love me?" You asked disbelief laced in your words.

"From the moment I saw you." He said pulling you closer.

Your mouth found his and you kissed like you'd never had before. He was your home. Your safety. He was everything.
